What is with the serious lack of BOE in raids? It os so rare, it is embarrassing.
I’m going with the theory that Blizz wanted to minimize people trash farming like they used to and wants them to run the whole raid.
What they should do is just get rid of most (or all) of the trash mobs in the raid and make BoEs drop from the bosses themselves.
Considering that most people don’t even run their AOE abilities in most of the raid (which is a critical problem with the current talent system), the trash isn’t really what raiders are there for or particularly enjoy. It’s called trash for a reason, after all.
Boss boe drops could solve the problem.
The BoE farming in raids is an activity that some enjoy, but the drop rate is much too low. It’s also reasonable that this is low, after all, random trash mobs shouldn’t give people mythic raid gear. However, if they dropped from the bosses, with a much higher droprate, groups could still enjoy collecting and selling mythic raid BoEs.
I would personally be happy if they got rid of raid BoEs all together. It is the closest thing to real P2W in the game…and most of the mythic quality pieces sell for $40-$60, and sometimes more
No, thats a terrible idea.
Care to elaborate on why removing the ability to sell raid gear is a terrible idea…or is that all you got? I mean, raid BoEs are the only system in the game that allows players to directly buy higher-track gear with gold.
Because selling loot is part of the game experience, as old as vanilla. Removing things isnt the answer.
Yes, well, Blizzard wasn’t facilitating the purchase of gold for real money then. And BoEs weren’t selling for $40-$60 dollars then. The game has changed, and so should the way loot works.
If we are going to insist on keeping high track BoEs, they should at least be added to M+ and PVP so that raiders no longer have a monopoly on the P2W market.
no blizzard might not have been selling tokens but gold farmers existed and buying gold was 100% a thing. my friend had his lvl 60 mount back in vanilla only because he bought gold. what was it 2 or 3 pcs of the tier from mc and bwl were boe and sold also. there has always been boes in the game from raid and as long as you can sell something for gold it has a real money value. im all for pvp and m+ having boes but thats less likely to happen unless they bring back those fresh level cap epic boes that we use to have drop in the world. also since its just killing trash there is no monopoly on the p2w market since as long as your gear isnt trash you can do it to hell even with trash gear u can make your own group for it. boes use to be my main source of income, hell during sod in shadowlands i was getting so many boes i actually said out loud i wish i would get some gear over boes since i was getting almost 1 a raid and no gear to equip. df is a loot drought when it comes to boes though
They have been rare for a couple expansions now. Blizzard wanted to cut back on farming them. This is not something new.
I’m gonna go with no.
It’s one BoE per armor type. Hardly “pay to win.”
How is that not okay, but crafted gear is?
Might I suggest a bit of formating. I’m not suffering through that monstoristy of a post to figure out your points
Being able to direcly buy mythic quality loot with gold that you can purchase for real money is the definition of pay to win reguardless if it is 1 or 100 pieces
The quality of crafted gear is restricted by the content you do…so there is a huge difference. For example, an open world player cannot craft mythic ilvl gear
my point to sum it up since your unable to read and understand it is that selling boes has always been a thing regardless of if it happen before the tokens existed gear still had a dollar value based on gold sellers. raiders dont have a monopoly on selling boes because you can make your own group. i thought gnomes were suppose to be smart
It’s one lousy piece. Why is it such a problem?
Not that much. It’s still higher than I could normally get.
That still isnt really applicable because there is very little gold involved. I’m confused about why you are comparing crafted gear to mythic/heroic track gear that players can buy directly from the AH for hundreds of thousands of gold. It is impossible to craft heroic/mythic gear unless you are doing that content in raid or its equivalent in M+.

there is very little gold involved
Seems there’s a lot of gold involved, according to some people.

I’m confused about why you are comparing
Because it seems okay to buy a full set of crafted gear higher than what I can normally get, but not okay to buy one Mythic piece.

Seems there’s a lot of gold involved, according to some people.
5 - 10K compared to 100ks of thousands

Because it seems okay to buy a full set of crafted gear
You cant just BUY a full set of heroic/mythic crafted gear…that is the difference. You are limited to 1 item every 2 weeks and you have to be able to farm the required materials.
Im confused as to why you are sticking with this irrelevant argument
