So with dragonflight swapping the gender option for “Body Type” (a change I personally love), it has me thinking about the possibility for other races, besides Dractyr, having more than 2 body types. Specifically, we know this would already be possible for humans.
I would love to see the Kul Tiran male and female models being added to the regular human body type options, for one! As well as adding the OG human body types to the Kul Tiran options. It may seem silly at first, but I think a lot of people would love to have the bigger model with the og human voicing and racials, or especially the OG human model with kultiran voicing, racials, and heritage armor.
There are also plenty of examples in game of Stormwind humans with the Kul Tiran models and Kul Tirans with the og human models. Flynn Fairwind and Jaina Proudmoore of course are Kul Tirans with og human models, and NPCs such as Mayor Quimby in New Avalon being excellent examples of non-kul tirans with a larger body model.
Pretty sure those two are different things, Body Type 1 and 2 is Blizz’s attempt at virtual signaling and Body Type customization option is the actual body type of the character, they aren’t connected, not sure why people think they are.
If I could play a regular human female model with the KT druid forms, I’d actually be extremely happy. Haven’t been able to get a single mog except the heritage set to look good on the KT one because it’s just… awful.
Do you actually, or are you trying to stir up controversy yet can’t help but let your Freudian subconscious get in the way by referring to them as binary genders?
Changing female and male to body type 1 and body type 2 has nothing to do with adding more body types per race and everything to do with the company trying to appear less bro culture and more sensitive to changing mores.
So you want to homogenize the two races?
No.
Blizzard spend a lot of time, effort and energy on making the human ‘races’ disparate because they are meant to be distinct. (If only they had spent a wee bit of that time providing an in-game reason for it so it wasn’t so half-baked.)
And yet Kul Tiran consistently sits as one of the three lowest played races.
Add the Stormwind human model and the Kul Tiran human model would have even less people using it.
Adding onto this. I would also like the option to play a slimmer Kul Tiran. The strongman look is what has kept me away from playing the race. They have slimmer Kul tirans in the game, why can’t we play as them? I imagine a lot more people would play Kul tiran if we weren’t forced to be the thiccest of the thicc.
Oh my GOD I wanna play a wobbly Gallywix-like goblin - or have goblins with even more wrong proportions.
I wanna play a big ol buff troll!!!
Or how about a gnome….TWO INCHES TALLER THAN OTHER GNOMES!!! With a body type like the Spriggans or the Sprites!
I would also love some more grizzled pandaren who are closer to furbolgs.
They’re literally connected love.
I’m sorry you can’t wrap your little human paladin brain around it but that’s okay, you don’t have to.
Just know you’re not a part of that conversation.
There’s guys that look like body type 2. There’s girls that look like body type 1. And eventually we’ll have a range of types for each culture that’ll reflect each one’s range of proportions. The Dracythyr are a proof of concept of that.
Y’all just don’t like queer people and I’d rather you be open about it. And before you try and contest that - you called the change “virtue signaling”. Anyone using that language ain’t even on thin ice you’re just in the water.
Disregarding your worthless condescending attitude, have your(taking after your own example) small little panda monk brain noticed that Body Type 1 and 2 is disconnected from Body Type 1-4 on Dracthyr? You don’t select it as soon as you select your Dracthyr, it’s a separate option, which is to say, chances of them using this system to make multiple character models is very, very slim.
In the future try not to make assumptions without knowing people, this is how stereotypes are created.
