Now about the slider, most MMO that do use a slider you can have a “middle ground” and that is the default, or they “body 1” and “Body 2” are not labeled but use only the pictures in a CLEARLLY definded silouete based on the specie that we might going to apply it
It is a slider in the Saints Row games. (Or at least in SR2)
In Saints Row 2 in particular, there’s a “Body Shape” slider, and if you set it all the way to the right your character has a very manly body, and if you set it all the way to the left it’s the most feminine type. If you start right at the middle and move left, then a bra spawns
is dragon’s prophet still around? they have body sliders.
Part of me wonders if a body slider might be too much for WoW’s spaghetti code. Especially with how they do armor, a full on slider could either be a lot more work than just adding presets or just impossible.
With all the changes with character creation and all the “suggestions”, Blizzard should scrap the whole system and start from ground up, that would be a major engine change though. Honestly, make World of Warcraft 2 or something like that, and when it’s finished allow all the players to port their existing characters over and give a free customization.
So, completely overhaul the game, armor sets, transmogs, movesets, dances, animations, mouth movements, everything?
Yeah, Blizzard, just like… do the work or something, snap your fingers and make this insane overhaul happen, because magic or what ever.
I think the reason they don’t have it as a slider is because the game still runs partially on old code.
If they have body type 1 and body type 2, it isn’t out of the realm of possibility to add body type 3 and body type 4 later on as alpha goes on.

I thought this was going to be about butt sliders.
This would be a much more realistic request, though it’s still an insane undertaking. What OP wants is a completely new system, and it’s not even remotely doable as far as I can tell.
It totally is, that’s something the engine needs to be built with

I’ve always thought we need a WoW 2 simply because adding more code to a 20+ year old engine (not just counting the 2004 release but if the engine was used in alpha and beta builds prior, but the number isn’t meant to be exact) is going to stop being feasible some day. There is so much spaghetti code they could open their own Italian food chain, and there’s no way you can untangle the mess in any reasonable way in any reasonable time.
But being able to carry forward characters is a must if that happens.
How? They simply asked for blizz to do the work. They didn’t say change anything or make drastic changes. Just, “Do the work” which can be a lot of diff things.
I wouldn’t be opposed to adding numbers in place a slider if the code can’t handle it. The drakthyr have body type numbers for slim to bulky. Could be a test leading to other races etc too.
Not only do i think this is as bad as body one and body two. But also i think this limits possible body shapes.
I still think PSO has the best body customization in online games (you can choose a gender, and have body shape sliders. Best of both worlds.)
What does Earth have to do with WOW? The playable races in the game come from Azeroth. Who is to say the biology of Azeroth is the same as the biology of Earth?
People are only upset about the body type thing because they think it’s LGBT pandering (and maybe it is, but I don’t think it has anything to do with whether it’s good for the game)
Saints Row 2 as far as I can tell wasn’t really made to be a woke game or whatever; it was kind of a probably lower budget (but still good) GTA knockoff from 2008 where you can customize your character. I don’t remember anyone taking issue with the gender slider, because people didn’t interpret it as political
That is another thing i have been thinking about.
The pshcology of people intrepeting a change from female/male choices into body 1/body 2 vs a game that has that since release.
Obviously the lather has more of an effect then the latter on mob mentality.
