I thought the BoA gear we put so much time and gold into buying and upgrading was supposed to help us level faster. In my experience so far it hurts you more than it helps you. It needs buffed badly.
Edit: The Point I’m making is the thousands of gold put into BoA gear is supposed to HELP you level faster and a little easier and it does not. I don’t mind leveling and I don’t mind BfA leveling. Leveling is one of my favorite parts of the game, I have 28 at 110 or higher(14 at 120). I spent thousands of gold to help me level not hurt me.

It’s not supposed to offset the scaling, so be sure to learn how your class plays and press more than a few buttons!

He’s probably talking about 110-120, where the heirlooms are considerably lower ilvl than Azerite Gear on top of lacking the traits. It makes a huge difference and makes you notably weak in that level bracket if you try to use them.

Yes I am, it’s bad when you lose 30% experience bonus to use azerite gear instead of BoA gear and you level faster, and kill stuff much faster and easier.
It is really bad that you level faster with Azerite Gear? Skip the heirlooms if that is the case. Only takes 7-10 hours to level anyway.

Yes, if only because it defeats the purpose of expensive heirloom gear.

That doesn’t make leveling bad. It makes the investment in heirloom gear over 110 bad. People need to do their research instead of blindly laying out gold to update heirlooms you’ll use for about 10 hours.

Wear the full loom set minus the Azerite pieces while doing the quests and make a macro to swap out pieces when turning in the quests.

They dont want you to level they want you to buy boosts.
Can’t buy boosts to lvl 120, or I would just do that and skip BFA Leveling entirely. But really don’t want to do that, I enjoy leveling, Just wish boa gear helped not hurt.
Will you just defend every blizzard design flaw? Heirloom gear was made specifically for leveling if it is a hindrance for you at any non cap level range, that you paid for, then it is a problem. As it stands only using some of the gear when not turning in quests is worth it, the rest is a waste of gold and that is a problem.
That said…
This is actually the real problem. The azerite system disaster is the reason we have these problems, but blizzard should adjust the heirloom gear accordingly.

I actually don’t think Heirlooms are worth it after level 90. A complete waste of gold when you can go through an expansion in a single zone without them. BFA isn’t much different as it only takes an zone and a half to level to max without them.
As such, I haven’t upgraded my heirlooms in several expansions even though I have the gold to do so.
Heirlooms used to be better, then they nerfed them. I can do without them being as good as Azerite gear, but I think they should up the ilevel at least to compensate a bit.

So you have never upgraded your heirlooms in several xpacs but you also know it isnt worth it? Huh, I didnt know I was talking to a wizard.
Isn’t worth it to me when I can get 10 levels on any character in a Saturday afternoon. I only speak for myself. Not some mythical group of players.
This happens literally every expansion. The ilevel is always crap for a while. And with artifact gear, you’re not going to want to waste the gold on upgrades. Just like we didn’t waste the gold on weapon heirlooms last expansion.
But by next expansion, when artifact gear traits are disabled, your heirlooms will work just fine.
Blizz has never gone back to “fix” heirlooms. They don’t see a reason to do so.
I have never spent gold on upgrading heirlooms until the expansion was either almost over or entirely over. Because I know it’s not worth it. And I was always careful about what pieces I actually upgraded.
Just need to do some research and not blindly upgrade everything for a current expansion.

Yeah they really aren’t worth spending the gold on… other than if you want that 10% for experience… but realistically it isn’t much faster
