BoA 226 gear in Zereth Mortis for alts catch up gear

Your reasons of why you can’t get gear from normal dungeons, let alone play the game in SL have been resolved general discussion

If 226 gear is available for you at 60 then this proves that zereth mortis isn’t hard as many people claim it is

it sure is a catchup

My monk and druid already have 5/6 research and 220 Korthia Gear but this will be great for my plethora of alts who are in their leveling gear still. It will make farming older content more accessible and easier. And it seems you can buy it for a low cost of anima.

OMG but I bet you it’s that ugly “Broker inspired” gear that looks nothing like Brokers except the plate. Thank god for transmog.

It’s the same thing as the 200 gear now. Also you should be able to buy that ilvl (or possibly full 230 - we will see) on the auction house if you don’t want to farm the anima.

Wish it was upgradable.

500 anima a piece is a little yikers but sure. Good stuff for alts I suppose. It would have been better to upgrade the ilvl of WQ as well to compliment this.

BoA tokens for 226 gear or just purchase 233 crafted gear for every slot from ther AH.

dont worry, mob ilvls will increase to match the gear

show me your proof that this happens in the current game.

226 is garbage gear.

Considering that max ilvl gear is 278, and currently max is 252, 226 means nothing to anyone.

Since this is the last tier, the lowest the gear should be is 242. That’s mid-tier gear foe this tier. It provides enough catch up to get into m+ and raids without giving people top level gear.

I think you’re missing the point of catchup. It’s meant to give players who did not play S2 a starting point to start doing the content of S3. If you’re going by the pure solo gearing path, it’s use anima to get these, korthia gear and upgrade it, or buy the 233 crafted from the AH, then use that gear to get the zerith mortis world gear, which is 246 ilvl iirc. this is meant to allow fresh toons and new players to skip to the power level of someone who raided normal last tier, not invalidate normal raid gear like R5/6 of korthia did.

226 seems awful low to me. Especially if it can’t be upgraded.

i think it should be at least 270

Cool… I can upgrade my main’s gear. I can skip Korthia on alts if I decide to level them.

Though, I’ll eventually have to get the Korthia factions to exalted on this character. Just to finish the reputation display.

Not really I have like 30k anima on my main lol I’m sure A LOT of people are in the same boat as me

Really depends on the prices.

If you have a lot of banked anima on a main it will be great.

If you’re actually coming back to the game and don’t have a supporting main it’s not going to be that helpful. The 200 gear helped alts significantly in allowing them to hit 60 and go straight to korthia and M0’s. But it required a lot of banked stygia. And even with that bump some alts still had issues surviving some of the korthia mobs until they got to 210.

I understand, that is because you have been playing.

A person looking to return to the game and maybe not get steamrolled, might not have the amount of anima us that never left now have. But its whatever, at least there is something.

Issue with 500 a piece becomes that you gotta take the bad RNG.

226 seems a bit low tbh, especially if Weapons are RNG Tokens like they were in Korthia before they added Korthian Token with slot targeting.

Crafter’s Marks IV are 233 and Crafter’s Mark of the First Ones is 262 (1 Equip) in comparison and that all is just a simple AH trip instead of even stepping foot into the zone.

If only we could craft weapons. Still, the best weapon you can craft a level 60 character is 115…

226 is too low.

Catch up means getting players up to current content, not up to the beginning of last tier. This doesn’t mean giving players normal difficulty gear from the upcoming patch. It means getting players PAST the first tier and half way through this current tier.

No one should have to touch korthia. It’s garbage. 242 gets players to an acceptable ilvl so they can start running m0 for the upcoming tier. That’s what a catch up is supposed to do, not funnel you into bad content from last tier.

That’s just #timeplayed methods.

by that logic, 226 is perfect. it’s 1 tier below LFR, and 10 ilvls below M0. 242 invalidates all of LFR, and all keys below +5. This gear + 2 legendries + 1 262 (crafter’s mark) puts your toon’s ilvl to 233. which should be more than enough to do the early bosses of normal mode and M0/low keys.
