How has it still not been fixed since this patch dropped
‘Fix’… for what? My battlenet app and messaging all still works fine.
Use Revo Uninstaller and uninstall Bnet, make sure it deletes all hidden files. Then reinstall it.
Also: WoW has nothing to do with the Bnet team, so if you have issues, you’ll want to go to the Bnet support forum for help. They’ve helped me in the past.
The fact I know exactly what you mean by this. Their limited indie gaming staff wont ever fix the constantly logout of bnet and the client refusing to log you back in unless you force close the entire app. Its been going on for years now with no fix.
Are you using a VPN? The times I have trouble like you’re describing are signs I need to change peers.
It’s not a problem everyone runs into. But I did find I stopped having the issue after I turned off Windows Fast Startup.
Bnet and WoW do not get along well with that caching system Fast Startup uses.
I can’t guarantee a fix, but I’d uninstall Bnet using Revo Uninstaller, delete all hidden files, then turn off Fast Startup in Windows, restart your comp, then reinstall Bnet.
That’s what did it for me.
Yeah, I’ve been pretty concerned by the lack of conversation I’ve seen surrounding what’s honestly quite aggravating notification spam from bnet friends logging in and out, and made the probably unfair assumption that the reason I’m not hearing much about it is because the average player doesn’t have a friends list.
But if it’s caused by something on the user side, that seems a more reasonable explanation—it’s just something that’s only affecting a portion of the playerbase including myself, not everyone.
Would doing this get rid of stuff like settings as well? Am I gonna have to reconfigure everything afterward? ![]()
The fact that my chat is constantly spammed with online/offline notifications is frustrating as is, but the fact that half the messages I send or get aren’t even going through and we have to go through disc is the most tilting thing in the world
These are clean installs on completely brand new laptops (one of which was purchased 2 weeks ago). I’ll try the windows fast startup and see if that is the root cause of the issue but everytime I’ve googled this it seems to be a problem a lot of people face and there isn’t a true workaround for it.
Probably why Blizz hasn’t found a fix: an inconsistent bug is like finding a needle in a needle stack.
yet its not
It is. Because no one I know has experienced any Bnet bugs, but I did and seem to have fixed my issue with the suggestions I gave. But it doesn’t work for everyone.
When a bug is not happening for everyone, that’s called “inconsistent.”
You also haven’t explained your problem. Which you’ll want to do on the Bnet support forum.
Bnet has a support forum? That’s news to me. Where is it? ![]()
i s2g reading is hard.
YOU may not have this bug, but I VERY much promise you its a constant complaint on servers rn
Bnet has its own set of forums, because WoW devs don’t have anything to do with Bnet.
So there’s a desktop app support forum, too. Along with other forums.
There are no game settings in the Bnet app.
Like ever since they added Warband Camps, any of my characters who are not in a camp are zoomed in to comical proportions. I mean, in some cases, head and feet are off the screen. I know I’m in the minority, and expect that they’ll probably never fix it.
Again… inconsistent as not everyone is experiencing it.
And I didn’t see your post, because it was between others that I was responding to. And that’s also not posting it on the Bnet forums.
The reasoning makes sense, but…how do you even find/get to those forums? I’m sure I just overlooked it, but I was unable to find any external links.
To clarify, it’s not the game settings I’m worried about, but my bnet configuration. ![]()
Aren’t there only like two or three things in Bnet to check or unchecked boxes for?
And I don’t know how anyone finds them now that they removed the link on the Blizzard website that used to be there. LOL
