Are these even accurate?
I watched an item today that was at the medium time length (30 min - 2hrs remaining)
Waited until they got down to short duration (less than 30 min) and set my timer for 30 minutes just to give myself a guide
It’s now 4 minutes past my timer and this auction that had “less than 30 minutes” is still going
So does the game just lie about the timers?
Timers get longer the more people bid on the item; it’s quite annoying.
I didn’t know that…. seems kind of deceptive
Does each bid add a specific amount of time?
It’s to prevent bots from just waiting until the timer hits .1s left and sniping an item.
Basically if someone else is bidding, the game gives each player time to outbid the other or walk away. In collecting various BMAH items I’ve seen many a short auction go on for 30mins past it’s original time.
It’s roughly 5 mins added each time someone outbids. But again because the other player receives a notification and a mail icon when they are outbid it’s not a reliable method to “wait for the timer to be close to 0”
Basically if you want to snipe an item 100% you need to gold cap it.
That makes sense. I don’t feel so annoyed by it now, thanks.
