So I’ve been trying to acquire my T3 set through the BMAH. Everyone just seems to buy tokens to buy whatever they want?
Another warrior at the BMAH in Valdrakken who got outbid by me 5 times was just like “So you want me to go buy 2 tokens to outbid you?” I had a 200,000 bid and took like 3 hours but he then bid me for 500,000
How am I supposed to compete with gold buyers for the BMAH? Are you guys okay with people just spending IRL money to beat your bids?
What even is the point of farming in game for gold if people are just going to spend 200$ on tokens? Not to mention ever since the AH change the prices for goods are basically trash.
Sigh, another defeat for the WoW player and another win for the IRL money spender and Blizzard store.

Just because someone has more gold than you doesn’t mean they got it with tokens. Gold is easy to make if you know what youre doing and tokens are wildly inefficient.

I made 5 million gold this expansion without buying a single WoW token, not sure why people would need to buy a token to bid 500k on the BMAH.

Some players myself included aren’t money hungry. I play the game to enjoy a break from real life. Real life is often all about the money so why would I want to bring that into my gaming?

Idk, a decent job lands you over 200k gold an hour, that’s pretty efficient lol.
And I made a solid 1.5 million but it feels like i’m fighting an unwinnable battle on the BMAH.
Every tier piece goes for 500k to 1 million gold. You’re telling me these people are farming 1 million gold for each item or just buying tokens?
The regular BMAH’ers are stacked. They have more bricks than you could fit in a stadium.

Not everyone with a lot of gold buys it.
I made so much gold in SL farming tables on all my alts that I’ll probably never need to farm again unless I buy something silly that costs an entire gold cap.
Just wish I was this loaded when the Brutosaur AH mount was available.

There was actually a gaming cartoon made about this very thing. A player was denouncing another for wearing some cosmetic gear he bought with “IRL” money… his response kind of said it all.

How do you know this? There’s a lot of people who max their gold out by playing the game. People who don’t/can’t seem to think this gold must be bought.
Well first you should bid at the end so they don’t have time to buy tokens. There is no point in bidding during the day.
It takes hours for a token to sell so if you wait until the very end nobody can buy tokens to outbid you.

The other person used their advantage over yours, and this is how life works. Is it fair that the NY Yankees have a much bigger budget than the Tampa Bay Rays? The answer is yes, because the the Tampa Bay Rays still can beat the NY Yankees. Just look for another niche, and perhaps you could farm the set would be a single example.
