BM worth to play in M+

With the new patch, is worth to play BM on mythic+ runs?

They were pretty meh AOE dmg before and had decent single target
now they are below average at both

We shall see next Tuesday if the rework does anything to help

Do you mean 11.0.5? I’m currently trying to setup my account on PTR to test AoE
but from what people have said it’s AoE DPS has significantly improved. That patch releases next Tuesday. But yea this week? No it’s not worth.

This is false.

Just did some testing with a PTR AoE Build (Might not be the most optimized for M+) but I took every AoE Damage talent possible and was able to parse about 2.5mil DPS and held that steady for a solid 4 minutes with 614 iLvL and not optimal stats (Low Haste since on Live I run Survival or MM). With Bloodlust it went up to about 3.5mil DPS.

Seems encouraging, thanks for the imput

Bm stacks mastery for aoe btw.

Right now it favors more having a good chunk of haste, around 15k+

Not what the guides say.

Haste crit mastery for ST

Mastery crit haste for aoe.

Ok, go tell all the top IO BM’s they’re not following “The guide”

:joy:

You do realize that those guys could be logged out in raid gear right?

Considering the guides are also written by Tarik and Azorthian

Oh then sites like archon ignores the stats, builds & gear data when doing a M+ dungeon and only logs gear when switched outside the dungeon and raid.

Specially when theres info for RAID and M+

Never mind me then, follow the guide.

Considering you can’t even understand that the players may not have an optimized set just for aoe completely flew over your head.

I also never said haste was a useless stat. I said it’s a lower priority than mastery is.

Still doesn’t change the fact that under mplus archon is showing people wearing the bis raid gear.

It’s also linking the wowhead guide which specifically states

“For the raid list we’ll be using the priority of: Haste >Crit >Mastery , while for the Mythic+ list, we’ll be using the priority of: Mastery >Crit =Haste“

The only value haste would gain is for tyranical boss fights as DR gains some value from haste.

And people who do NOT raid and only do M+ may not have their optimized “guide” gear set did not flew threw your head ?

You’re just thinking that people who raid most of their play time are the only ones topping the M+ charts.

And what does that imply to you then? Results given by the masses is what matters the most, other wise raid heavy stats would not even come close to achieve high keys.

:man_facepalming: here we go again.

Not what I said at all. Reaching much?

Data from people wearing gear that’s not fully yet optimized doesn’t mean much.

Nor does it change the fact that mastery has more value over haste in aoe.

Since you want to ignore it.

Best in Slot data provided by archon is literally using the bis list from wowhead.

Look I don’t care what you do. You want to stack haste then stack it.

Doesn’t change that mastery has more value in aoe.

Haste and Mastery swapping in ST and AoE makes complete sense.

ST is built around speed of attacks, since there is no compounding pet damage. Haste = more attacks per second = higher DPS.

With AoE things change, as your pets are now compounding damage based on the size of the packs. When stacking mastery, it increases the damage dealt by your pets, which based on current and impending AoE abilities of BM, based on the math, adds up more efficiently then faster attacks with less ‘punch’.

With that said, you are seeing ‘top hunters’ in various haste/mast builds as the overall variance based on whether its H or M you are stacking isn’t overly remarkable. Worries about stacking on or the other is simply fine min/maxing and not hugely impacting your results.

Some sims are even showing keeping haste high and dropping some Crit for Mastery can be more beneficial. More hits landing with more force, with only small reduction in crit procs. Seems to makes sense.

Overall, the impact isn’t such a vast change in DPS that its worth worrying about multiple gear sets for the large majority of the player base.

You do know you can just sim it ?

Mastery does gain a lot more in AoE than ST, but it’s very likely that at least until some fairly high value haste is more valuable.

  1. All the guides say sim yourself, same as on ST.

Brother what ?
