BM should never be the best spec

Lets be real here, it’s the most boring spec out of all the hunter specs. Even melee sv is more fun. Your pet doing most of the dmg is just cringe. I would go to say that bm is the most boring spec in the game.

Not every spec is for every person. If you don’t want to play bm then don’t play it. Bm has a short widow where the crazy stat scaling makes it great. Take charge of your own experience and play what you want to.

Why does it matter if you push a button and your digital avatar makes the DPS number appear versus your digital pet avatar makes the number appear.
Both the character and the pet aren’t really you.

Why would I play something that is way worse than bm when it comes to dps?

If they gave MM the mobility of BM I’d agree. But a full mobile ranged DPS character is too much fun.

From a quick Google of mythic raid logs it looks like mm is doing 82% of the damage that bm does. This means that unless your constantly parsing above roughly 80th percentile it’s not just the spec that is holding you back. The numbers are not exact, but unless your doing cutting edge mythic it shouldn’t matter as long as you perform well at the spec you enjoy.

If all you care about is the log numbers and big parses then should it matter what spec is the best?

Because being fotm isn’t that great if you find it boring. You can still complete content, if you are playing something you enjoy. You may not be able to complete as high a lvl of content, but you can still do content.

I like BM better than SV and MM, so I’m going to disagree with you.

BM rotation is too easy? Yeah, so? Let’s be real, they’re all easy. The challenge in this game comes from boss mechanics.

Fun and boring are subjective. Having more buttons to press isn’t particularly relevant to me. If you really need lots of buttons to be entertained, I would recommend another class altogether. All the hunter specs have pretty few abilities.

Same. I LOVE having both pets out, and I love that I can have special pets and spirit beasts.

cause all specs are viable, you dont need to min max, you are not a bleeding edge raider any spec you play is fine justh ave fun and dont over think it.

The pet does a lot of damage because you as the hunter press buttons. Whether the damage comes from your hunter or your pet makes no difference. It’s still your actions.

Woah, slow your roll down, OP.

I’m not a huge fan of BM myself, but for some people, it’s the best spec, no matter what. People like collecting their pets, people like the idea of fighting with a literal pack of wolves.

Look, it’s been a damned long time since anyone could say BM was the best hunter spec in the game - let the BM players have their moment in the sun, because if you’re having a headache now, these forums are going to be an absolute row if SV ever takes the crown.

What’s stopping you from using specs other than BM? You dont do M+. You dont raid. Nobody is stopping you. The other 2 specs is capable to do M+15, AoTC and to beat 5-Masked Visions should you choose to do endgame.

BTW, the word boring is subjective. To me, I love BM over the 2. I want a Range DPS’er that has PET. Survival fails on my Range Criteria. MM failed on Pet criteria becoz they usually dont use pet.

Not to be that girl but are you sure you’re in a position to be upset about this?

I mean you haven’t exactly reached the point where the difference in damage is even noticeable so play what you want until you find yourself reaching the skill ceiling.

I would agree with the premise of the thread, but not for the stated reasons. I think that ideally, a simple rotation that can be done at range with full mobility should have lower maximum potential than one that is more mechanically complex (most iterations of SV), or suffers some from movement (MM).
