In my opinion this is the easiest and most boring spec in the game and has been for a long time. Why have they not gave a rework to this spec yet?
Isn’t BM consistently one of the most played specs?
Subjective indeed. Besides, if I want to actively turn my brain into battery save mode there is destro lock >.>
I do actually wish they’d return to the Legion design - zoobuild specifically was an absolute blast and I will forever loathe that barbed shot was the tedious sod they opted to keep. It’d be nice to get a thematic / practical rework though … some have tossed the notion of BM being alike to Augvoker, but for their pets.
Why should they rework it, some people like easy specs. There are 39 specs in the game, not everyone of them should appeal to you.
Posted by a fury warrior lol.
So much this.
Half the specs in the game can purple/orange parse with gnome sequencer. At least BM requires buff managment to perform well.
It’s only boring if you have never raided especially new raid prog with it.
Because we do have a smooth rotation that we can cast while moving any “Run X debuff to spot Y” mechanic is a Hunter mechanic
Because we have the Apect of the Durdle Turtle every big individual soak mechanic is a Hunter mechanic
And we do that with the tradeoff of being one of the squishiest if not THE squishiest class/spec in the game so we have to rotate our “defensives” pretty optimally during many fights or die to a sneeze lol
It’s one of those classes where it gets a lot more fun in practice if you are willing to be the guy in the group that learns and executes the side-mechanics for fights that only require a couple designated members to do
Easy and boring are subjective. Hunters need a rework, but not for either of those reasons. The specs are simply buggy, convoluted, and in dire need of attention from someone that actually understand them.
However, I will address the obvious bait.
Easy. BM is definitely an easy spec. If you’re a casual player, it’s arguably the easiest spec in the game. If you’re the type of player that likes to maximize your effectiveness, however, there are several specs that are probably easier.
Boring. The benefit of full movement at range is the ability to do things other specs can’t. If you’re a lazy player, BM will likely be boring. If you like to be responsible for fight mechanics, and your raid group trusts you, BM can be a lot of fun.
But, like I said, it’s entirely subjective.
The spec is definitely boring, the only mechanic is keeping 3 stacks of frenzy up which is just tedious and annoying
put my bm hunter and your bm hunter in a zskarn and i will body you on the meters every time while i do bombs and traps. that is the difference between the floor and the ceiling of an “easy” bm hunter.
op cant keep barbed shot at 3 stacks. keeps falling off. runs to forums and rages about how easy it is.
Funny thing is, the whole “BM is easy” meme started with Preach. He was doing a stream during BfA and playing BM. He kept going on and on about how incredibly easy it was. Meanwhile, every BM Hunter watching was laughing at how poorly he was playing.
He would only stack Frenzy during Bestial Wrath, then defended it by saying that is how the spec was played. His pet positioning was horrible, so cleave was only hitting half his targets. And every time he would screw up, he’d feign death and call it a reset switch.
He did it to Demon Hunters as well, which didn’t have quite the sticking power, but those memes flowed as well. After that, a lot of people just considered him to be disingenuous as best. Others used it as an excuse to bash on Hunters.
Any spec in the game can PINK parse with hekili/hero rotation, as long as the person playing it knows how to use it.
One of the best outlaw rogues i know uses HR and pink parses.
No spec in this game is hard.
Facts. I just don’t enjoy playing like that.
To min max there is more to it than that. Putting Barbed shot on multiple targets if possible. Using barbed shot charges earlier than needed to get BW off CD faster for more BW up time. Keeping beast cleave up on multi target fights (the majority of classes in the game do not have a buff they have to keep up with resources just to do their AOE rotation). Purging key buffs off. I find myself tab targeting non stop in M+ while juggling two short duration buffs. It’s a casual spec. You can do well with it, but there is a big difference in a BM hunter that min/max and one that doesn’t. On top of that, one that avoids damage, uses defensives properly, and handles mechanics correctly is hard to find.
Def, by far most boring hunter spec. And I always avoided surv
Exactly this. The guy tried to trivialize the spec and then unwittingly makes himself look like a fool because he failed to realize there’s more to it. For such a “simple” spec there sure are a lot of really bad BM Hunters out there who have no idea how to efficiently maximize beast cleave uptime and multi-target barbed shot uptime. And then guess what? Since the rotation is so easy, you’re gonna be expected to do every single mechanic while the Shadow Priest gets to stand completely still while executing his grand piano like rotation.
I always thought that BM should of been the melee spec/hybrid melee range spec. Weird that they made survival the melee spec.
BM melee hybrid summons beasts all about having multiple kinds of beasts
Survival - Engineering , traps, dots gun
Marks - Bow specialization
The Story of Beast Master is the Story of Hunters. Very easy play, with uninspired flow and design. I love my boring hunter. I love her for the menagerie of pets I’ve collected. And I love that she can stand outside of most non raid AOE boss nonsense and still hit.
