BM isn’t 2nd last, they’re doing fine. In the modes that matter (ie majority of raiders do):

Even when you look at a mostly irrelevant mode like Mythic, they aren’t 2nd last, they’re basically even with mages , druids, afflocks and shaman:

dps rankings dont matter. if a player is good at their class they will always be at top or near top. i swap between mm and bm, fight depending and i am always on top #1 dps in our guild. mind you, we are not professional players but we are 4/8M with grimtotem near kill, sub 20%.

if you want my genuine opinion about class balance, it almost feels like blizzard does it based off of class population. and right now there is a severe overpopulation in the hunter class, specifically bm. so what is the easiest way to shift players around and move them to other classes? nerf it to bottom of the chart. i am happy with it. i have been maining hunter since the release of this game. and while the charts says we are at the bottom, good players stay at the top.

BM is very good for progression raiding it just can’t pad very well on farm. Same thing with enh shaman.

Yes, it’s still best in slot, but a 418 crafted gun/bow or a 421 M+ Bow/Gun is pretty much the same dps, and, at least for MM, can be higher dps.

I had the Normal version drop in raid run a couple weeks ago and lost to a guildie (I didn’t even get to roll because for some reason I had loot spec set to survival???) but I simmed it after and Normal Neltharax was a dps loss to my 405 crafted bow, for reference lol.
