It’s time Blizzard! There are many whelps, and drakes across the land that are in need of a nice home, in my stable, where they will be cared for and well fed… by the corpses of my enemies.
We can already tame cloud serpents, dinosaurs, mechanical creatures, etc, it’s not a far off idea to tame dragons. We, the players, are ready for this responsibility.

they mite add a tome for it that would be a great idea like the tome for taming undead pets.

Yes please! I’ve wanted this forever.

I think the dragon mount is the closest anybody will get to taming a dragon.

I was hoping my warlock could have a new demon in Legion or the ability to forever keep a demon of choice much like a hunter can keep their pets… if a cant get a cool new demon on my warlock… you dont get a dragon.
I bet they’ll add a tome for it in a dragon themed place. Hopefully they add the ducks too.

You know dragons are people, not animals, right?
It’s weird enough that we are riding around on their adolescent offspring.

Dragons are sentient and basically a race in game though… that’d be more than a little weird to be able to tame them.
Maybe one of the new dragon-wyvern looking things? Pterodactyls? That sort of thing?
I guess that they could frame it as entering a partnership with the dragon rather than actually taming it. That’d work well enough while allowing folks to use dragons as hunter pets.
Okay, I’ve talked myself into agreeing with you. haha

Proto-drakes are mostly depicted closer to beasts then dragons so they could be a viable hunter pet (tamed all over northrend by vrykul)
Behond that I think all the non evil drake mounts where either ones we saved and are showing their gratitude by helping us; like the bronze strathholm drake or they were assigned to us by greater dragons for heroic deeds like the lifebinder’s handmade being a gift from alexstrasza for stopping deathwing.
Having a quest similar where hunter save a drake or getting an unlock to befriend them from a quest would be pretty valid.

A good and valid point! Warlocks should be able to get new demons (not just glyphs for old ones).
And yes, DRAGONS for Hunters!

I agree with you! Even the whelps would be a welcomed addition.
I like the quest idea to “unlock” them, like the undead, mechanical, dino, etc.

That would be fantastic if we could tame the dragons.

Taming dragons would be neat
I’m surprised they don’t have a [tame a dragonling and have them grow as you go through the expansions duration].

It would be an appropriate time for it I suppose. If they were going to actually let this happen. I’m hoping we have the couple odd new dragon npcs is it a dragon isle expansion. People seem to like the stone watchers a lot. So it got me hung up on possible stone dragons…(they could do different types too tho)
Tbh I was not that happy with the mention of the npcs this expansion so far in the zones. I was pretty vocal about this soon as I seen it. Just seeing new monsters, critters, races whatever else in between adds a lot of hype. (For me anyways can’t speak for others) So maybe next time they will get to display/showcase some of the new stuff. I know the guys and girls really been knocking out the designs past couple expansions. So it is nice getting to see them.

“Taming” can just be a mechanical gameplay term. Lorewise, we would be entering into a contract with them or just befriending them and working as partners.

Dragons are a sentient race. Your “taming” would actually be enslavement, are you a hunter or a warlock?

Contract agreement with a sentient one but don’t forget the multitude of “dumb dragons” like the proto-drakes from Northrend. Dragonkin, (the ones walking upright, carrying spears) seem to be the sentient ones, but most of the flying drakes or wyrms would and should be fine.
I am also a warlock so they can join me willingly or not. You know, their freedom to choose, after all.

I think there can be an RP element to having a whelp as a ‘friend’
