Casually qued some KFC with some of my old friends; and it didn’t seem bad. Despite the fact they were way undergeared (340ish) we were able to get wins. BM didn’t seem over the top, but actually fairly balanced.
I tried playing my BM hunter. Resto druid in 2’s just spam rooted and slept it and would just go cat form and kill it through my mend pets. I had to turtle to rez it. Felt like killing myself and haven’t touched BM since. Good luck.
Your healer should have been tossing some heals on your pet + mend pet pet should not die
I’ve been 120 on my BM hunter since March 8th. The burst I can pull off is insane. BM is fine.
The burst is insane? Duel a healer and tell me if you win.
Hunters are trash.
This is a weird challenge to present lol. I mean dps should beat out a healer eventually due to damp or mana (usually the latter) but are you saying that you need to be able to like global a healer to have “good burst?” I mean I know you’re a mage and can only assume you’re fire but I mean, jeeze haha.
cough arms warriors cough
Sorry, just reminding everyone that we’re still the only spec in the game without a form of self sustenance.
But I agree with you. Nobody should just be able to faceroll and global a healer, unless you’re just really, really good at the game.
Or more accurately, if the disparity between the two’s skill is too large. At equal playing field, healers should be able to live in my opinion.
On the first note, yeah. I could never play a war (arms at least) because I need to play something self sufficient :/. I’m sorry
They seem iight, It was really refreshing to watch BM hunter cupid in the tourney. They almost won too.
I struggled in Arenas for weeks as MM (couldn’t push past 1000), finally changed to BM and broke 1400 in a day. I’m loving it right now.
Oh yea, entirely understandable. Nothing quite like dying to a hunter pet hitting you for like 2k behind a pillar because you literally have no healing. That’s the best.
Anyway still hoping for changes
I need more pieces with feeding frenzy. I have the shoulders from mythic firstboss which have it. I want 2x more FF, 1x more dance of death (the one that procs agi on barbed shot equivalent to your crit %), and 1x primal instincts. End goal being 1x PI, 3x FF, 2x dance of death. 3x ff and 3x dance would probably be as good, maybe better.
I’ve tried playing with one with the pack over chimaera (i notice that cobra hits about as hard as chimaera now, and focus isn’t an issue with all of the barbed procs) and thrill of the hunt over crows, and you get so many procs it’s unreal. My crit is up around 40% passively, and I think I’d be able to consistently maintain the agi buff from dance given that many procs and that high of a crit chance. I’m also seeing more value in killer cobra over aspect, since BW is up significantly more often with all of the barbed procs and aspect is nerfed.
I’ll have enough TR for another 415 piece next week but am debating using some of the 1200 I have now gambling on 385 pieces just to get the trait setup I want.
BM is basically good in situations where you’re better off not doing anything. I’ve found it makes them really strong vs resto druid teams, and if you’re playing something like ret hunter it’s much better into say Desto Rdruid X.
Wild Protector while you just sit at a pillar actually pretty much lets you do what’s best in a lot of situations in this meta - keep up damage and just try to oom the enemy healer.
I find BM is weaker than say SV in scenarios where you need to actively peel/be in the fight/CC.
Usually as BM my main focus is just to avoid anything from happening and just keeping up frenzy stacks. Not really worth overextending for CC for the most part, just better to make yourself a nontarget from positioning and then just let your team mate do whatever.
Kind of an odd reason to be useful, but it isn’t bad especially considering how the meta plays out.
Oh also it’s definitely much better vs WW monks than SV tbh - wild protector on whoever he hits plus pet constantly chasing is really nice.
Go to the legion order hall and buy the “play dead” ability tome from the quartermaster. It’s like feign death for your pet, though you have to be in LoS for it to work.
I just tried this out because I was curious. I had 3x FF and only 1 dance of death. Barbed shot proc was great, and once the crit % was steadily at a 9% it still could hold up in numbers. Damage was still 1.2k under my normal traits and talents. But you’re right, chimera shot does comparable damage to cobra, and i’m realizing the only time I use it is for more focus. I think the biggest issue in arenas would be once the enemy starts the pole dance, the procs are going to be that much harder to maintain.
Seems pretty accurate. KFC seemed pretty good into destro/rdruid/x. Especially when I just pillared until we could bolt trap. Haven’t tried Cupid, but after watching The move play it (granted in not 1/100th the hunter Jelly is) I think it could be good. Binding into double melee seems really good.
Yeah it’s definitely not going to beat out “optimal” trait setups in a pve scenario just because of the difference in environment, and things being nerfed in PvP where they aren’t in PvE. For example, primal instincts is still significantly better (your best trait) in pve purely in terms of output, but that is considering the fact that nothing is trying to stop you from doing damage to the boss during your big cooldowns, and you can do enough damage in that window to make up for lower sustained damage between aspect of the wild.
This build just dumps barbed procs on you and lets you use bw more often. If it’s remotely close in terms of PvE output, I’d say it’s probably better for PvP, because you are forgoing the traits and talents that give you the biggest burst for significantly better sustained damage.
unranked people suddenly getting rival? Maybe some Nerfs for BM are needed
Who are you referring to? Lol
