BM Hunter - Previous Behavior:
The -pet in the active stable (the 2nd active pet) will play dead with your pet, but if your summoned pet dies first there is no option for it to play dead. This has always been a bit of an oversight (possibly, a bug? ) but when you feign it will die quickly on its own and not be an issue. As long as you play dead away from your corpse, the aoe it would draw during its death throes was manageable.
BM Hunter - Current Behavior:
If your pet dies and you decide to attempt to feign, your 2ndary pet and all pack leader pets will remain up and fighting. They will eventually be killed, but the 2ndary pet will re-pop and come back to your feigned side on passive with all mobs still on it. The 2ndary pet is now invincible on passive, but does not fight. All remaining mobs will now kill you with AoE while feigned as they beat on your 2ndary pet like a target dummy.
I am not sure if this is all the extra pets that take no commands causing this. Or a bug that the 2ndary pet is re-popping or not dropping aggro after death. Either way, in order to feign if your pet dies you must now:
- channel 2.5 sec rez your dead primary pet, so that you can regain control of the 2ndary pet.
2a. play dead the primary taking the 2ndary with it.
2b. channel 3 sec dismiss pet to get rid of the primary and 2ndary pet. - feign death somewhere safe. (hopefully you have planned at least 5 seconds in advance to feign death)
