BM Hunter stunted yet again?

BM gets no love in PvE. Not only did the bow get nerfed, but now a 10% reduction in Kill Command which is legitimately most of our cleave. That 10% was effective. Give it back to us, please.

You’ve lost 3% damage in aoe, you’ll live, you’re still doing more aoe damage than you did before 10.0.7 with bow. Kill Cleave is still doing 60% cleave damage. And Bm is still the highest single target raid spec in the game. Instead of doing 200k in Academy, Bm now does 194K.

While I disagree with the initial complaining cherry picking the one good BM dungeon, due to uncapped AE, and saying it’s fine is laughable. End of the day BM is a non-meta spec, so why nerf it?

There’s better ways to slap it’s ST profile down without hitting it’s atrocious AE.

Where are you getting your info? In raiding, beast mastery is listed B tier at best, 14th overall. While this takes into account more than just single target, it is the single largest contributor to the ranking.

At time of post, for damage dealt to bosses in VotI at the 99th percentile and under (i.e., excluding only crit-lucky outlier parses) BM leads

  • by 2% over the next best ST source of damage, Unholy DK (which is both melee and rotationally rather finnicky and cannot therefore facilitate mechanics anywhere near so well as BM)
  • by 7.3% over the next best ranged spec, Affliction/Frost (neck and neck, and both of course far less mobile than BM), and
  • by 8.4% over the next best Hunter spec, Survival Hunter.

Prior to this nerf, it was arguably overpowered, especially when able to leverage its best-in-game levels of freedom.

Now, should BM receive buffs to its M+ potential? Certainly.

  • But that should probably come from letting Bloodshed cleave and/or significant buffs to Stampede, etc. — things that would specifically help with its burst, even if that means having Beast/Kill Cleave damage be reduced beyond 5, 6, or 8 targets.

The nerf to Raz bow was important as it gives developers a chance to see our class / spec as it really is.

Now the real tuning begins.

No melee can touch a hunter in pvp. If you want to kill nearly everyone you meet try some pvp. Hunter is absurdly powerful in arena and bgs.

Oh hey! Fancy seeing you here lol

As someone who NEVER saw the bow on her army of hunter alts, I am glad they nerfed the bow since they wouldn’t let us turn a weapon into the bow via the catalyst and they didn’t want to increase the drop chance. Having a spec tied to a very rare weapon drop to be on par with other dps isn’t fun nor fair.

That said, why would they nerf Kill Command? Let us have fun being glass cannons since they refuse to address are survivability… I mean yeah they gave us an 8% increase in health if we spend 2 talent points in that node, buuut yeah they haven’t addressed the core issues we’ve been complaining about since Beta. And there’s no meaningful changes to the 10.1 ptr so maybe 10.1.5 will be our time to shine?

Because the buffs were overkill, going from 92.5k ST sim before the patch dropped and shooting up to 95.5K for free cause of the buffs when BM single target is insane, and even after dropping the 10% kill command damage you only lost about 3% aoe damage in m+, you still have the kill cleave buff which alone is massive for bm and you’re still doing way more aoe than hunters did before 10.0.7.
