BLZBNTTAS00000002 error

I have my Battle.net app set to remember my log in details. This evening when loading the app it requested my password. After I typed it in, I was told it could not be authenticated. After a number of attempts to log in/recover my account using my password, I eventually found that I could log in by sending a code via email.

Battle.net still won’t let me log in via my password, only with the email code.

This issue persists with Battle.net on two computers, the Battle.net app on my phone, and even when trying to log in through the website. I also tried tethering to my phone to see if it was an ISP issue.

I’m not sure why my account suddenly developed this problem, but any help to resolve it would be greatful.

Also, my characters are no longer visible on the Armory page.

This might be best off over in the Tech Support forum. It looks like it’s an error code that gets generated when there’s a connection issue between yourself and the servers (which could be anywhere from your PC right up to Blizz’s network).

A quick search of the Googler shows that there are some troubleshooting tips that you may or may not have tried. I’ll copy and paste them below:

Fix Network and DNS Settings

  • Flush DNS: Open Command Prompt as administrator and type ipconfig /flushdns then press Enter.

  • Reset Winsock: Type netsh winsock reset in the same command prompt and press Enter.

  • Change DNS: Switch your IPv4 DNS server settings in Control Panel to public addresses like Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).

  • Restart Hardware: Turn off your modem and router for 30 seconds, then turn them back on.

The bottom links (1, 2, 3, 4) are links to help with those steps (again, from Google).

There’s a support page for things to try, recommendations to change your password, resetting the authenticator or changing the email just to start

I tried some of those suggestions, but I finally figured out I could reset my password via the “forgot my password” method, even though it didn’t work when trying to reset it in the security section of my account. It was like my original password wasn’t recognised for some reason.

Not sure what happened, but it’s been resolved.

Edit: My characters still aren’t visible on the Armory though.

The armory can be odd at times, it might update on it’s own after logging into the game with the characters.
