Hello, just bought Lenovo C630 with Snapdragon 850 arm processor. Trying to install wow classic. Didn’t have any issues with battle.net, but when I try installing wow classic I get this error code: BLZBNTAGT000009D2.
Is it possible to emulate wow classic on arm processor? I already changed my windows 10s to windows 10 home.
thank you.
Arm is not a supported platform.
This is not going to work.
Yeah, but there are emulators. basically windows 10 emulate the programs that are not on arm64 platform. On the other hand, games like diablo3 or league of legends don’t have this issue. They are being emulated (requiring more resources though).
That’s why I think it’s only installation issue. Any GMs please?
Btw error says: “64bit system is required to play wow”. I am on 64bit windows 10 home!
Windows has an ARM version. WoW does not.
If you want WoW to support a different CPU architecture than the only one they currently do (Intel/AMD x64), post a feature request in General Discussion.
You will get this error if the CPU is not supported for WoW, even if you are using a 64-bit operating system. So it does look like the issue is due to trying to use the Snapdragon 850 ARM, which is not going to work for WoW unfortunately.
Glad to hear that you were able to get Diablo 3 playing on it however. Diablo 3 has different system requirements and still has a 32-bit client option, unlike WoW which is only 64-bit now.
Instead of making a new thread, I hope no one minds me hijacking this one. It’s the top of the results when you search this problem.
I have found a solution. Or rather, this is only a workaround, and a theory of the cause of this problem for myself and others who game on older or odd equipment.
However, it does involve MY hardware specifications, so please read closely to make sure this will work for you before you put the effort into it.
Specific problem; BLZBNTAGT000009D2 appears, and a message that states “A 64-bit operating system is required to install and play World of Warcraft Classic”
Hardware; HP Dv5-1125nr (it’s a potato)
CPU: AMD Turion x2 64 RM-72 (socket S1g4)
Instruction set: SSE1, SSE2, SSE3, AMD64, x86_64, 3DNow!(+), AMD-V, MMX(+)
(this is important, because the installer relies on the SSE4.1 instruction set, i think. Confirmation needed. People tend to have problems running other games that rely on the 4.1 with the phenom, it supports SSE4.a)
Ram: 800 mhz DDR2 4GB
Graphics: Integrated ATI Radeon 3200 2gb Vram
OS: Windows 10 Pro x64
I’m going to skip software, as, you shold be following blizzards lead when they say to have everything updated. If your PC can’t support DirectX11 at minimum, please turn back. This will be a waste of time for you.
Solution;
- Install World of Warcraft Classic on another PC, using your log-in information. Do not copy a friends warcraft files! I am not sure, but it might ban you if you do.
- Make sure you have just World of Warcraft classic installed, or this could take forever. Either uninstall retail, or move the “~/_retail” folder until you are done.
- Find your world of warcraft instalation folder, usually C:\Program Files(x86)\World of Warcraft
- Right click the folder “World of Warcraft” select “Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder”
- This will take some time, but after the file is zipped you will have a .zip folder as well as the original folder.
-
Right click and cut the .zip folder, then paste it in the USB flash drive.
7.Right Click and Extract the contents of the zip folder to the same default drectory (*C:\Program Files (x86)* ) - Open the Battle.net launcher, and “Locate the Game” near the bottom undernieth the Install button.
It should do some minor maintenance before you can play, but if it throws an error again I can’t help you.
I kept getting this confusing message just trying to install the game much like OP. This post and others did not shed too much light on it, and most where foreign, but when you combed as much information as I have, here’s what I think is going on.
I think the battle.net installer needs the SSE4.1 instruction set from your CPU in order to install. My turion doesn’t have this, and the Phenom has experienced similar problems with the SSE4.a and other games needing specifically SSE4.1. Confirmation would be cook, but I am just concerned blizzard will get mad at me for recomending someone copies their game from another PC!
Remember…COPY YOUR GAME…also, there isn’t any risk that I can see, but I am not you, so do this at your own risk.
As for OPs case, NO you can’t run this on that CPU as far as I know, but try this solution at your own risk I would avoid submitting my error reports though. If, for no other reason, because that would be annoying for blizzard employees. I know there are a bunch of people who game on older PCs. Which, situation is compairable, and the error message is identical. I am trying to help them out. Just to reiterate.
If the blizzard staff could let me know if this is acceptable that would be awesome. If it’s not, please have mercy on my soul. I know it’s them who usually give the answers, I just wanna try and help people with a solution I have not seen so they can get on with helping us save Azeroth.
