Hello, I have been trying to play wow for the last few months, unfortunately I keep experiencing this issue where I can randomly disconnect. Could be after an hour of playing, could be after 2 mins of playing, I also receive this issue when swapping characters. For some reason going to character select then going into game disconnects me almost 95% of the time. I have tried pretty much every solution I could find online, but nothing seems to work.
Ive tried; Port forwarding
Checking firewall settings
I have a wired connection
I have attempted to reset my Cache/WTF/Interface folders.
I have uninstalled and redownloaded both all addons and wow itself.
I have power cycled my router.
I have flushed my DNS.
My pc is up to date, windows and my drivers along with my gpu.
Also sometimes the world freezes around me but chat keeps going and I can type and send messages and see new ones also.
Ive been getting a LOT of these lately … at least once every hour or two , and Im losing arena rating because of it
Any fix to this yet? Been dealing with the same issue for two days. I have completed every step listed on their troubleshooting forum and even went as far as uninstalling/reinstalling Battle.net, WoW, AND Windows 11. STILL can’t log in. WTH
Having the exact same issue since 4/4/2025 and tried all the previously mentioned troubleshooting steps. Also tried using a VPN but longest I can stay in-game is about 15 min and most of the time its less.
Is this ever going to get a response? It’s unreal that this has been allowed to go on so long. It’s killed me multiple times in M+ and in Raid this weekend, and I’ve gotten no help from CS. It’s a joke that they recommend coming to the forums when there’s zero communication from Blizzard officially.
I agree, Its a little sad that their official response to this issue is;
Its your internet
or
Go on the forums and look for help, good luck.
There is no responsibility from them and its annoying, because its not a free game. I and its only this game that does this similar thing. Everything else is fine.
Were you able to solve the problem? This is the fourth day of this problem. In addition to your actions, I also reinstalled the software on my router and traced my traffic through Winmtr. I found a temporary way out - Russian VPN, but playing constantly with 400 pings is hell. For information, there is the traffic is stable (although 400 ms). And this is not a problem with my router and computer. Friends came to me and stayed on their accounts for few hours. There are no problems. And I have, what the hell…
Connection and computer troubleshooting used to be something they offered as a courtesy service and were not included in the monthly license subscription fee. They changed their troubleshooting practices about a year ago.
They are owned by microsoft… if anything they link you to a service that does help.
Their customer support is separate from Microsoft/Windows support. Blizzard CS links you to connection troubleshooting advice, but they don’t work one-on-one to resolve these issues anymore.
yup same here past 3/4 days i cant play on anyone on illidan all my mains… everything else works. they keep sending me in circles and closing my tickets lol i even re installed windows… haha
Only been having this issue for about an hour, and despite following all the steps I still can’t log in. I’m really quite peeved.
Coming back here to share something that (hopefully) helps people out- God knows customer support likely wouldn’t suggest this: while trawling the EU forums I saw someone suggest using Cloudflare Warp to circumvent some of the issues they were having. I’ve been using it so far and it seems to have stymied the problem for now. I’ve noticed some variance in my ping (it’s climbed to 100), but it’s much more tolerable than using a free VPN (where I was seeing up to 200+ ping) or dealing with the random disconnects.
I don’t consider this a satisfactory solution. The fact that I had to go to such lengths to get something to help while receiving poor information from official Blizzard customer support sources is not great. I was told to perform the same troubleshooting three separate times within the same ticket, which is ridiculous.
Also sharing a work around, but after not being able to play for several days I tried a lower pop realm (not Illidan my main realm) and this problem never happened.
Not sure if its at all related to the population of the realm or the location of the server but anyone having this issue can try making a new character on a different realm and server change their main if your connection stays good on the new realm.
Feels bad to give Blizzard money for a work around and not even a fix.
