I had a post that I’d hoped would get Blizzard’s attention, simply as a “hey, we’re here, talking about a thing, check it out, sit by the fire, have a hot cocoa, add a comma to this dragged out and beaten to within, an inch of its life horribly-grammared run-on sentence!”
Yes, I’m stupid for expecting an exchange including Blizzard, I get that.
Yes, I’m stupid for having “Blizzard” in the title. I get that.
Yes, I’m still VERY new to the forum, even though I’m a long-time player of WoW.
But those things are unimportant to my issue. A blue (is that what we call them? It was someone with a blue frame around the WoW symbol avatar and with a public profile that said it was hidden) edited the word “Blizzard” out of the title.
Yes, I understand why they did it, I get it now. We’re not “allowed” to “call out Blizzard”… what th- I digress… quickly off that thought.
But they did it without notifying me, which could easily lead to me continuing to post with titles that include “Blizzard”, which would lead to a blue continuing to have to edit my titles until I’m eventually silenced for a period of time.
It also flat out changes the context of the post. If my post is originally intended as a letter TO Blizzard, and says something like “you are all the smartest, most awesome, most incredible buttheads ever. Get it together!” and the word “Blizzard” is edited out, now the community thinks I’ve complimented them in some form.
And I won’t have that.
But seriously, if a blue edits a post, in any way, they should, in my opinion, leave a comment on the thread explaining that they’ve done so and maybe even why. Especially on the post from someone who doesn’t have a lot of experience on the forum (which can easily be seen).
Please understand this is me trying to understand the system better so that I follow the rules and comply- it just seems like it would be better for everyone involved if whomever changes titles or posts also explains that they’ve done it and why. That’s all.
