Blueprints

Upgraded my house to level 10. I saved the Full Layout and it proceeded to remove 99% of the decor. No problem, went to Import Layout, says I am missing Octogon Large and Square Room Large and they need to be unlocked, unable to import layout. I now have a giant empty house.

Having similiar odd blueprint related issues. In my case, despite having both day and night skybox rooms, it won’t let me place the daylight one anywhere, and refuses to load it as a blueprint. Also, when loading a blueprint, it will load the rooms and some items, but not all, leaving me with a mostly empty house.

The daylight room will only place if there’s a room in that spot that it can layer with. Example: on PTR I just put down a large octagon room, tried to connect a daylight room to it (which it technically allowed), but now the daylight room and octagon room are some merged monstrosity and the door opens up to the abyss. It’s quite odd.

This just happened to me. I can’t copy my room from my Ally House (made the blueprint, then deleted that room from the Ally House so that the Decor would be available when I used blueprint at the Horde House). When I try to use the Blue print, it says I have 61/62 items; I am missing the Large Square room. My House is a level 11 on the PTR, so there’s no reason why that room should be missing.

Now I have lost Square Room (Medium).

Why can’t I use Exit House while in cat form? This must be a druid player biggest pet peeve.

Can we get blueprints for small things?

Imagine custom furniture like tables and chairs. Multi-select the decor items and group them. Then export them as blueprint and reimport them to create clone copies.

Grouping decor items should allow to move and rotate them as a single item without tearing grouped items apart.

I don’t need blueprints for entire rooms but having blueprints for custom built decor items would help a lot.

Agreed, and another thing I would like to see is being able to pick what kind of room the import is imported to. For most rooms it doesn’t really make sense, but for the Day and Night skybox rooms, outside of wallpaper and lighting, they’re the same dimensions. Was hopeful I could export the room I’ve got in the day room into the night variant of it, but that’s not an option, nor is changing the room’s wallpaper, which would be the preferred option, I’d be happy for either or at this point.

I’ve submitted through the PTR bug interface but also thought I’d mention here that blueprints have issues when saving empty stairwells that have been expanded to more levels. On the three level empty stairwell, it saved about halfway up. I was also able to save the upper portion separately but importing the upper blueprint to the up-arrow of the imported stairwell adds an extra level between the ā€˜end’ of the lower part and the ā€˜start’ of the upper part. It’s like its trying to save the upper part as a separate 2 level stairwell instead of as a continuation of the lower stairwell. I’ve tried a lot of iterations in saving (both standing in the room and saving in the floor plan screen) and in importing and nothing works.

I’m having trouble with blueprints involving empty stairwells.

When I was in ā€œEdit Floorplanā€ mode, and on the first floor, I saved the room, then as a precaution, went to the second floor of the stairwell and saved that blueprint as well.

The problem is, I can’t get the stairwell back.

Oh, if I import the first floor, everything that was in the base stairwell is there… up to roughly the delineation between the first and second floors. The blueprint for the second floor has everything that was on the second floor. (This is an empty stairwell that I had platforms and beams to effectively create the impression of three floors.)

But I can’t ā€œmergeā€ the two. If I import the first blueprint, it puts the empty stairwell in there with everything from the bottom of the room to, as I said, roughly the spot between the first and second floors. But I can’t load the second floor blueprint into the ā€œemptyā€ space where it belongs. I can add it as a third floor, but now all that decor is floating above where it used to be.

Unless things have changed since I last tried, I was able to save a regular empty stairwell fully but I could only import it with the ā€˜up’ direction if the connection point I chose wasn’t already on level 1. Since my main concern was with the empty stairwell with two or more stacked (3 level and 4 level in my tests), I hadn’t gone back to trying just the 2 level one after it seemed to be working.

I’m not too worried right now since the full interior save appears to be working just fine. I can always blueprint my ā€˜problem’ rooms from my interior pre-12.1.0 save once they work out all of the multi-level room issues. I am planning on doing complete interior saves on both houses as soon as the blueprints are available and then I will be redoing both houses pretty extensively. (This is all assuming they raise the decor storage cap otherwise I won’t have space for the decor I need for the new rooms I will be adding.)

Would it be possible to export/import Blueprints externally (e.g. as JSON) instead of using blueprint codes?

It would have a couple of advantage if we could create real backups, do Git version control with blueprints or share them across regions EU → US or vice versa.
