I for one would be happy if Shadowlands stopped existing…
Even so, that is no excuse to bring back an ability that is unfun and unthematic for our class.

Simply put, it’s lazy.
This is supposed to be a return to class and spec fantasy, and all these Shadowland abilities need to do is just adjust their name and color.
Blessing of the Seasons → Greater Blessings
Blessing of Spring-> Blessing of Light
Blessing of Summer → Blessing of Might
Blessing of Fall → Blessing of Wisdom
Blessing of Winter → Blessing of Kings
Simply because we all know we aren’t getting Blessing back any other way… >.>
Spear of Bastion → Spear of the Valkyrie. Now has a golden graphic
Primordial Wave → Molten Boulder graphic
Adaptive Swarm → Insect Swarm
Shifting Power → Phoenix Flower. Now has a more firey graphic
etc…
It’s precisely because Shadowlands still exists that the talent SHOULD be renamed so there is no confusion between the two. I’m getting so sick and tired of these completely thoughtless reasoning and excuses that Blizz is giving for their changes, or lack of in this case.
its alpha, every coven ability is probably gonna get renamed and have a different color at launch. chill tf out
I hope they aren’t double downing on this stuff.
“it does exist as a thing Paladin are familiar with”
Yea, the like 4 Night Fae Pallys, it’s for them. lol
I’m more offended at their sheer laziness of not wanting to reskin the abilities and spouting dumb sh*t like “changing its name for the sake of change likely causes more confusion than a slightly off-themed ability does” is just offensively stupid.
I find it hard to believe there are even 4.
I just want it removed from talent tree. I played Night Fae Pally for whole Shadowlands and I didn’t enjoy Blessing of Seasons. It’s simply not fun nor satisfying. But like PI, to increase RDPS I am going to be forced use it in raid(1 talent point that gives other DPS 3%+ increase). Skill is awkward to use as skill rotate around different effect and most time you don’t get to use effect you want, you just press it for someone else’s dps boost.
Only reason this skill is included in paladin talent tree is whoever made it think she made something unique and she can’t stand that literally no one used in Shadowlands.
Your job isn’t being proud of your work, your job is to make fun game. Stop trying to feed your work into people when 99% people don’t want it.
“We’re not renaming it to avoid confusion…”
“We see Ret…riding in on a mighty steed…”
“It goes against the class fantasy.”
So what you’re trying to say is screw everyone playing the game because the designers don’t like the ideas.
Hasn’t that been the issue for a while now?
Guess all those promises of change and listening to feedback meant nothing. Surprise surprise.
It’s alpha, it’s beta, it’s prepatch… If you want something changed better earlier than later.
Seriously, if players don’t shout their feedback early and often, crummy things don’t get improved until the final patch of the expansion.
I thought blizzard was going this path. Remember when they first datamined skills and vanquisher hammer dealt holy damage? I thought their intent was if they brought the SL skills into df they would change names, damage schools and SFX to reflect more class indetity. But no they didnt lol
I’m now convinced that they dropped all of this because they couldn’t afford (by this I mean they are lazy) to reskin the abilities so they just picked the two closes to “class fantasy”.
Sad.
Yea I remember for enh shamans chain harvest was added and dealt nature damage (instead of shadow), in line with shamans and they ended uo straight up deleting chain harvest from alpha a couple of builds later. Either way, the shaman tree is one of the best looking of all.
Honestly though, if anyone can track those 4 down we need them to talk. Apparently they are the only Paladins Blizzard care about.
What are the chances that their excuse for not giving us things like blessings whilst they give other more utility is that “people not going Night Fae Paladin shows us that Paladins are not interested in giving buffs”
I actually was one of the 4 throughout season 1. The only reason I swapped is kyrian literally does 25% more dps as prot with a bit more survival as well. You would think they would at least compensate the crap dps with defensive stuff or something.
They better change visual in my opinion. I understand they were Fine for the Cov looking centric but its stupid to keep that visual. I imagine new player who skipped SL in few Xpact or Even in DF beeing like why my spell is blue while all other are gold
