Tokens should be able to purchase war supply extras. At least even a 50/50 split with honor. cheers
Agreed. What does one do with thousands of tokens if we can’t transfer them to our Warband or buy supplies with?
I’ll sign the hell out of that petition.
Altoholic add-on says I have 66k bloody tokens across all my characters. Silly to introduce a currency that they let become so useless so fast.
I agree, I was just talking about this the other night. I have 29k bloody tokens (which isn’t really that much in comparison to others) leftover on my main, and that is after buying all the other warmonger pieces for transmog. Some sort of conversion would be nice.
There are a lot of potential solutions to this problem - but all of them require more time and effort directed at WPVP, overall. Frankly speaking, I think they should direct more time and effort to WPVP, seeing as it is the OG WoW PVP. It’s the “War” in “ Warcraft.”
The BT currency system was a great idea. The problem with it, of course, is that there’s nothing to spend it on outside of WPVP gear that is typically only really useful pre-Conquest - and this is especially true in TWW, when they’ve removed the WPVP gear set bonuses (a mistake, IMO). Once you’re geared up, BTs become a (mostly) useless currency, and this also leads to WM becoming mostly useless content. If people don’t have a reason to turn WM on, then who’s going to be there to fight? While “Love of WPVP” is certainly a reason and might be enough for some people, WoW is an MMORPG at the end of the day and people want their carrots to chase. So give them a carrot.
There are a lot of things that could be done:
- WPVP gear with set bonuses!
- WPVP-specific gems!
- A set of WPVP gear that is better than Conquest gear!
- WPVP-specific crafts!
- WPVP-specific resources!
- WPVP-specific mounts!
- BT transfer to alts!
This is just a sliver of what they could do to improve the current system and WPVP, overall. WoW’s WPVP has so much untapped potential, it’s ridiculous. Blizzard is sitting on a gold mine - and they don’t even know it.
A lot of people argue that WPVP isn’t popular, but they make that argument base upon a system that is lacking reasons to engage. I suspect that if Blizzard put in the time and effort, they’d see a consider amount of WPVP player engagement. The people who want to WPVP, who want a reason to turn WM on, is actually surprisingly large (going by private discussions with people); however, they need a reason(s). They would, but they don’t, because there’s no point. Again: MMORPG, carrots.
I could probably go on for quite some time, laying out other ideas, but I think I’ll end it here for the moment. I will say one thing more, though.
I honestly get the impression that what we’re seeing with WoW PVP currently isn’t the death of WoW PVP, but a growing dislike for “Instanced PVP.” People are getting tired of these “Canned” forms of PVP, these E-Sports shenanigans, and they’re craving something more raw. They’re craving WPVP. They just don’t know it.
Once you are rich, famous, and geared from all that killing in the wild, you should be able to enjoy the fruits of your labors by spending tokens to higher robot assassins that will hunt down and destroy your enemies on your behalf.
I just buy bracers and DE them at this point.
Did they change the BT vendor in Vald to honor? I can’t remember
i believe marks of honor, but you’ll have to confirm yourself
