So instead of 50 x strength/100 for armor, they have reverted it back to 40 x strength/100.
I thought this buff was to counter the loss of the base armor from veteran of the third war?
So how much will this actually hurt us?
I think this is like a 3% DR loss.
I’m not sure about the exact value but it’s low. We’ll be fine.
EDIT: I meant DR loss not armor loss
Just focus on stacking strength and haste. Everything else is fairly negligible for now besides maybe versatility.
It was supposed to be compensation to keep it where it was. Instead we were lied to and are being nerfed even more at the last minute. I’m about ready to retire this toon. Can’t PvP as DK and they’re set on nerfing it’s ability to tank.
I think the nerfs are negligible, esp in dungeons. I think they’ll still be top.
Yup %100 correct.
Brez ? Check
Grip ? Check
Mass grip ? Check
Absurd self heals compared to every other tank ? Check
Awesome Flat damage reduction on 3 min cd ? Check
One of the best Magic mitigation on 1 min CD ? Check
EHP increase with increased healing on a 1.5 min CD ? Check
Acceptable Damage ? Check
People with no clue trying to say you cant raid anymore is much lol.
Don’t get me wrong, Blood’s got an excellent dungeon kit, but…
-
Brez… great. Classes that offer more utility or don’t take up a tank slot have this too.
-
Grip… great, if you find a use for it in a raid. I’m currently seeing few usages for it in Uldir.
-
Mass grip… even more of a niche in raids than a solo grip. Aside from advanced mob control tactics, this has proven mostly useless in Uldir.
-
Blood’s entire game is healing. This is part of its mitigation kit, hence why it will take anywhere from 2-3x of a hit that you take and keep trucking. Great for dungeons, but it loses steam when you’re actually progressing content.
-
Awesome flat reduction like… Shield Wall? Or Demo Shout? You’re literally stating a DRCD and acting like other classes don’t have those. Only class with a right to complain there is Vengeance.
-
It’s great for magic. It also happens to be one of the niches Blood still fills, and it loses mobility for having this.
-
Anything that increases your health or serves to completely nullify a given percentage of damage taken is an EHP increase. Additionally, unlike Demo Shout or Ardent Defender, it reduces zilch of incoming damage, instead just buffing up the meat shield a bit.
-
Acceptable? Blood and Prot Warr scale insanely on AoE damage, but overall tank spread is actually very close for ST.
It won’t be impossible to raid as Blood, it’ll just be even more boring and irritating than it is now.
And we were talking about dungeons, its also taken a huge %3 or so hit to DR, acting like that will make raiding more boring or difficult is a joke.
Oh no you might need an extra healer external.
Its still in a much better place than most tanks.
I see you mentioned vengence, funny that they take way more damage than DK, heals less and have less tool to deal with incoming damage, their entire kit is built for 5 mans yet they pale in comparison to current blood and still will after the tiny nerfs.
Same goes for monks, they will laugh that stagger change off .
everyone thought or once thought 8.1 was going to be the real release for bfa, but stuff like this shows that this patch is just as rushed and half cooked as the expansion launch. We aren’t the only class that has received a last second nerf over the past few days.
Raiding as Blood will still be fine.
This nerf was aimed towards our godliness in dungeons. And BrM got a similar treatment that they will laugh off just like us. Just look at Guardian Druids, Prot Warriors and VDHs and come back and tell me that raiding as Blood is irritating…they currently have a worse time than us although I hear prot warriors are finally getting some love.
People are exaggerating, true, but I specifically replied to your statement as seen in the 2nd quote.
I didn’t say it wouldn’t be? I only said it would be more irritating and boring than it currently is.
The funny thing is that I know it was aimed at dungeons, yet the impact on raids will be greater than the impact on dungeons. It’s like Blizzard doesn’t understand what makes Blood as powerful as it is for dungeons.
Guardian’s even more boring. Not necessarily more irritating, but it’s definitely more boring.
Prot Warrior… Prot’s actually irritating. It’s definitely not boring, but it’s irritating.
Vengeance is not boring or irritating, it’s just kinda meh. As I said before, it lacks the cooldown diversity other classes have.
Now, back to the other fella…
I won’t, I’m gonna play Prot Pally instead. Blood is about as fun as consuming sandpaper.
For dungeons, it’s still top dog. For raiding, it’s still about middle of the pack on progression.
And… Yeah… Like I said, they have a right to complain. Their toolkit is shallow and they lack the sheer number of DRCDs that other tanks have. I’m not sure what this was intending to bring to my attention. I know the problem exists and acknowledged it myself, so what does repeating this do for either of us?
I dont mind the nerfs were still going to be just fine.
However never forget Legion release, dont ever put it past blizzard that they an make your class so weak that all its utility would still leave it as not an option.
I’m now 0,1cm from unsubbing and only considering a return with a complete overhaul with frost or blood. Blizzard is being so incompetent it’s impossible to describe.
What did any of your posts achieve ? You jump into a post about BDK being gods of dungeons saying that raiding will be worse .
Raiding on a blood DK hasnt really changed that much since mist>wod. Guess your flavour of the month reroll didnt pan out for ya huh ?
How about you do some content outside heroic or +8 keys
The post wasn’t “about” Blood Death Knights being great for M+. It’s about Blood in general, and the reversing of the Bone Shield armor buff, which wasn’t particularly needed anyways.
Reading works, by the way. You should try it here.
You… obviously didn’t raid as Blood in Mist/WoD. It was a different creature in terms of enjoyability and utility. It’s changed a good bit since then. BfA’s version of Blood is a watered down Legion BDK, and it’s less fun to me.
What on earth are you talking about?
You… You haven’t even seen my Death Knight, and yet you’re saying I rerolled to Blood on some whim or fancy regarding “balance”?
I honestly feel bad for you, that you have no other arguing point except to claim I’m a FotM reroller.
The passive aggressive smiley at the end really pushes the wannabe-elitism of this post, but you’re not up there enough to be an elitist, so
I raid when I want, and I do M+ when asked. Given timing and schedule conflicts, I haven’t had much time for anything outside of school, but it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when somebody has no ammunition to throw at me except assumptions based on what you see on a website.
Please do. Leave DK for people who know it will still be good.
This wont hurt us badly and just puts us a little more in line with other tanks. If you think we wont still be a desirable pick for raids and top tier for m+ then you’re bad.
IMO blizz went easy on y’all
Looking forward to see more nerfs to BDK healing and AM
Please stop, Mr. Salt Factory.
Blood DK rules M+ but Are middle tier raid tanks. This will just bring them back in line with everybody else if anything and I expect BM/Prot warrior to take over the top spots in 8.1 for raiding. Especially considering DK’s only represent 2 out of the top 10 raid tanks currently.
