Blood Elves are High Elves

We have the same style, culture, appearance, everything. We ARE just renamed for symbolic reasons (the scourge attack). The “High Elf Rangers” were more woodsy looking, but they are just a piece of our High Elf/Blood Elf culture. Good day.

in the void elves starting zone, there are blood elves AND high elves students, so NO blood elves aren’t high elves else they would only be named “students”

Agreed. Blood elves are high elves, and void elves are high elves too.

Nah they aren’t and plenty of people with better knowledge than me will tell you. But you are 99% trolling

God I hate elves

A few of them didn’t want to rename themselves (according to lore), but again it’s symbolic. Your smoking gun is not a good point at all… Essentially the “High Elves” are symps for the Alliance who think we shouldn’t have left. They are still the exact same race.

Blizzard shouldn’t have spent 4 expansions defining High and Blood Elves as different people.

All this nonsense? Blizzards fault 100%. Years showing us and telling us they’re not the same, until Ion became game director and said otherwise.

They are “different” in that Blood Elves renamed and joined the Horde due to Alliance abuse. The “High Elves” refused to rename and stayed with the Alliance. You could argue that they are a small sect who remained allied, but that is all that they are. They are in fact, not another race. It’s also not feasible to say that Blood Elves are fel or mana starved versions of the High Elves because they were cured and not all were fel corrupted at any point. They are simply Blood Elf because blood was spilled when 90% of the pop was killed off by Arthas.

Void Elves are pretty much High Elves as well. They are void corrupted, but otherwise the same. They really shouldn’t have been an allied race.

Curing the Blood Elves was the biggest mistake of TBC. The survival and mana starved aspect of the Blood Elves is what made them cool and really set them apart from their past High Elf ideologies.

It fit perfectly with them switching sides as well. Now as far as I am concerned they’re just Horde humans.

However you’re concerned, the lore is the lore. They are High Elves. Also, the primary reason they aren’t in the Alliance isn’t the addiction or Sunwell aspect. It’s the extreme racism of the Alliance. They pushed out the High Elves, otherwise KT would’ve not been so PO’d and left.

Well technically that’s not true, while Garithos was a catalyst for alienating the Blood Elves, they left the Alliance far before the events of WC3.

The High Elves left the Alliance under the reasoning it was The Humans fault Orcs pushed so far into their lands, they left the same time Gilneas and Stromgarde did.

Tereneas rightfully reminded them The Alliance was the only reason The Orcs didn’t destroy all the kingdoms outright.

All this shows is that High Elves are split in factions via virtue. They are not a separate race. Glad Blizzard isn’t wasting a race slot on “High Elf” for the alliance.

I mean i’m under the belief we should just have all customization open to players. I think the allied race system is incredibly restrictive and customization in WoW is severely lacking as it is.

Ogres for Horde and Helves for Alliance is criminally absent from the game. I don’t really care about High Elves personally, if I wanna play an Elf paladin i’ll just go play a blood elf.

you can tell they are the same race but ideollogically they arent the same, they are like a nation without land, again, blood elves and high elves aren’t the same people

Yet. Void Elves are also High Elves too.

So what’s really the difference between a Alliance Thalassian High Elf and a Horde Thalassian High Elf? :man_shrugging:

Look, I DO NOT CARE if Alliance gets “High Elves”. I’m just dispelling the foolish illusion that they are different. If you want to waste a new race slot on them by all means, do it. I would rather get Ogres on the Horde side and change all of my toons to that.

Blood elves are high elves and void elves are high elves which are also blood elves. I don’t understand why people are so confused.

This is true in the sense they are the same race. Blood Elves are symbolically named, and Void elves are corrupted with void power so they can actually be different in a meaningful way due to physical changes. I’m guessing this is why the Alliance got them.

in wow nations are etnocentered and it’s hard to diferenciate all humans aren’t from the same nation

kultirans are just human they only look diferent to justificate another “race” same with green and brown orcs.

so if blizz wants to make a race out of high elf (ideollogical) they would just add or update the model and justificate it the way they want

light tattoos made draeneis a diferent “race”, moose horns with taurens and purple skin with void elves… why the eye color couln’t make blood elves an evolved race from high elves?

Au contraire; Void Elves are able to control the void. If there’s any corruption going on, it’s the void that’s getting elf corrupted.
