Blood dk Talent Adjustment

Shattering Bone should deal physical damage. You are smashing floating bones onto your target. Thematically it should do physical damage.

This would also give it a boost from the talent Bloodshot. Giving Blood dk a much needed dps boost.

that’s it. That’s the suggestion. Comments? I usually tank m+ so that’s where the basis of the argument is coming from. It just creates more cohesion from capstone talents.

Just remember Physical Damage is effected by Armor… So yes while Bloodshot would increase its base damage, it might just end up doing the same Magic Damage it does now…

If you didn’t pick up the Bloodshot talent, you would be doing even less damage than now.

Talent damage numbers would have to be adjusted. And I personally fear the normal +10% track record does nothing.

Before anything it needs an animation, other than a goofy sound.

I wouldn’t go that route as was stated by another poster physical damage is reduced by Armor values and it additionally has a large range of modifiers that either fully counter the damage or significantly reduce it.

Secondly you are not smashing bones onto your target instead they are taking damage from an explosion and fragmentation of bones to form a kind of bone shrapnel. This explosion would be a kind of Blood Magic but as this is not something that we have in game it is instead using Shadow Magic in the same way that Blood Boil uses Shadow Magic.

All that being said there might be a way that they could alter Shattering Bone to do something more as it definitely under performs in terms of what it does for damage based on it’s Talent Tier Level.

My thought would be to consider that the bones are INFECTED or DISEASED so while it will do the initial explosive damage it has a secondary effect as well. Any target that is damaged by any bone shard is infected with a Blood Born Disease which would put them in a weakened state reducing their damage by a given percentage % while additionally either slowing their casting and ability use (Similar to curse of tongues) while under the effects of the disease or each time they attempt to use an ability, cast a spell etc. they have a chance to stumble and fall prone fatigued at the exertion it has caused their weakened body. This would essentially be a disorient type effect but it could also be a stun.

Just another option that would add some very interesting flavor to Blood Deathknights
