Hello all-my wife and I are filthy casuals and she is playing around with her DK in blood spec for the first time. She loves the survivability, but neither of us know what type of offensive rotation she should be using. We just quest and bg.
Any help would be appreciated.
Icey veins has a pretty easy to follow guide. If you’re just playing casually it’s not going to make a huge difference though. But an easy opener could be:
- Death grip
- Death and decay (multiple adds)
- Blood boil
4.marrow rend (to get your bone shields- use two or three times)
While runes regenerate
- Blood boil (at this point you should have 3 runes regenerating- two will be at the same time use them for marrow rend to keep bone shield stacks up and the third on heart strike to build runic power for death strike
- Use death and decay when it procs
- Use death strike through out to heal and to manage runic power ( prevent capping)
Im sure that other dk’s will disagree with this but this rotation should help someone new to blood learn to manage their runic power and runes

Awesome thank you.
Checking Icy Veins as well.
Bloodboil takes priority over all abilities because of the trait. You are gimping yourself hard if you’re missing BBs.
Who said anything about missing blood boil? The rotation i outlined had both charges being used in the opening

That’s more of a general tanking rotation like Icy and every site has. Not sure what he means by “offensive” rotation but assuming it means a more aggressive style to clear easier content faster, he would sacrifice using less bone shields/marrow, emphasize more Heart Strikes especially if 2+ targets, and take Consumption + Bonestorm. This would generate more Runepower and substantially more damage to rush through dungeons that are on farm mode and have less damage smoothing, relying more on bursty self healing through Bonestorm and Consumption. Both are on short enough CD that you could probably have 1 up every pull and alternate them for big damage and heal spikes from trash packs questing or dungeons.
If he just wants a generic, actually more “Defensive” rotation, a quick Google search for Icy Veins Blood DK would be easier than us typing it out
As “filthy casuals” doing questing, I think his wife is doing easy stuff where she’s not getting killed in a matter of seconds, so I wouldn’t say the generic Icy rotation is what she needs. For Questing and random BG’s where everyone ignores the Blood DK, the bursty damage/heals staggering Consumption and Bonestorm I think are more applicable.

Depends, on bosses I like
Taunt > death and decay > drw > marrow rend > marrow rend > Blood boil > heart strike > etc.
