Blocking the BWL Orb

I’m not sure how bad this is on other servers, but on Blaumeux, the top Horde guild often parks their bear Druids on the BWL orb during raid hours, causing a huge bottleneck and no small amount of toxicity as people struggle to get in. This I believe goes against the normal rules of PvP and crosses into the realm of mass griefing as it affects those of both factions. Is there any way we can get a Blizzard mod to intervene or any kind of answer on this issue?

Pvp solution to your problem? Is that server pvp?

That does nothing to move the griefer if you are their faction.

OP, pretty sure this is something blizzard would harshly crack down on. If I were you I’d take it also to the specific realm forum and let all of their guildies know what is going on.

Same crap used to happen with the Battlemasters being blocked by same faction clowns looking to grief.

/run local c = “graphicsTextureResolution”; local s = GetCVar© or “2”; if s == “1” then SetCVar(c, “2”) else SetCVar(c, “1”) end

Make it a macro, you’re welcome.

Make sure © is actually ( c ) without the spaces.

Well and good, in addition to having as many folks reporting the clown doing it.

I mean, I don’t use it - I PVP my way to raids on PVP servers because I’m about it, some people aren’t - sometimes it’s same faction doing it as well.

I think he is saying that they are same faction griefing by blocking the orb with their bear models.

The macro adjusting textures is somewhat helpful.

Last night, the top guilds on my server decided until the WB purging comes to an end, no Ally will be permitted to raid.

3-4 of the largest guilds, who usually don’t raid Tuesday, camped BRM from 5ish to 10ish. There were hundreds upon hundreds of people due to all the typical Tuesday raiders and the additional guilds.

Server stability was definitely in question. The lag was so bad, it was actually the best way to zone in. You could walk to the UBRS portal, stand there while the other players loaded into your view, then walk back and click the orb while the players there were loading into view.

It took my guild over an hour to get everyone in, and we are Horde. Next week we’ll be clearing UBRS on alts and entering through there.

My general rule of thumb is this, if I click directly on the orb and instead hit your character model 5 times, I attempt to ask you specifically to move, upon the next attempt if I hit your character model I just report for cheating with the reason of zone disruption.

Yeah we had the same thing happen on our server, I sat around recording it for about an hour in ghost form to show them how bad it really is for small guilds - seems to have calmed it down significantly.

It was insane, the drama chat in the server disc was getting thousands of messages an hour. There were so many people there the server was removing people from groups and teleporting them around upon D/Cs - which were very frequent.

Yee, you can see how bad the lag was for us here:

If Blizzards servers weren’t so bad it’d actually be fun to an extent - like I have no issues with people pissing off the raid loggers on a server - but the underlying point was that the smaller guilds get left behind and suffer the most over this while the large guilds targeting each other see little to no impact over it.

If those small guilds quit or move off the server, it’s a huge problem for the servers health.

Had intended to come back and show that alliance do the same thing but got injured and haven’t had time to do it.

Yeah, it hits smaller groups that may not be ready to plan around it pretty hard.

Definitely isn’t faction specific, just who ever coordinates it on any given day. Hope you recover quickly and well bud!

No. It stopped because the brave dwarves cleared the mountain.

It may not be based on facts. But it doesn’t matter. It’s the legend which counts.

The great siege of Blackrock mountain was lifted by a brave dwarven charge!

I am fine with that. The dwarves are based.

This is the third time the same guild has done this, and we tried just about everything to get them to stop or to find a workaround. It is one guild targeting another and griefing the entire server in the process. We tried the model reload macro, but because they were Bear druids and not regular player models they tended to load in immediately for some reason making it not so much help.

How many of you are actually reporting it?

how go you expect a raid of 40 to combat a raid of 200+?

Last tuesday half my guild couldnt even zone into bwl because there was 186 people on spy just within range of the orb room. You could see the same amount in the entire inner ring and in the hallway to UBRS.

I am on a very balanced healthy pop server, but pvp can’t fix the problem there is so much lag it will auto kill you existing.

They just need to make the orb click through like retail objects. That would literally 100% fix the issue. Even against griefing and griefing on PvE servers.

People like this are horrible. Same ike the idiots who stand on top of the Flight Master in SW when the buff goes out and then spam AOE to make things lag even more. I’m not sure if it’s people legit being stupid or doing it on purpose to grief but it’s ridiculous.

Given the kind of garbage read on the forum on a daily basis from some players, I have zero doubt it is just malicious children who are not getting enough attention irl.

Have your whole guiild, and any other guild, report them.

Back in the Burning Crusade, after my self and a few of my friends got the Amani War Bear mount, we decided to troll the population of Orgrimmar by sitting on our mounts back to back against the mailbox closest to the auction house. After about 45 minutes, and hundreds of threats, my friends and I were forcefully moved from the spot by a Blizzard GM, and warned right there if we did it again we would recieve a (temporary) ban. This type of gameplay falls under DESTRUCTION OF AN AREA, RENDERING IT UNUSABLE FOR REGULAR PLAY.

So yeah, just report them.
