To level Engineering past 80, the only non Grey recipes BOTH require the same item… Oriblase… so… now… everyone is price gouging it for 10K Gold.
Supply and Demand. I get it… But Bliz should have made a few more options of Recipe that were not greyed out to finish leveling up. This road block SUCKS.
Bad call… now some of us are locked on profession leveling until availability of these gems free up.
Professions should never be left up to a single item to continue leveling…
Sounds like you should up your gathering game. Multiboxing is effective for that.

Why do you need to level up engineering right away for anyway? My engineer always gets level up last and unless I missed something there was no rush this expansion.

I am behind. Just hit level 54 in Blacksmith and 46 in Alchemy . I have been sending my herbs and metal to alts. Leveling any profession is a freaking pain. To many same items with lots need to level.
then you pay the price if you are trying to buy it on the ah - prices for everything are high at the start

You want the good/bad news? It doesn’t matter anyway, because by the time you get to make the goggles, you realize its lower ilvl than your current helm, and the only way to upgrade it is to get an item that is rep gated and will take weeks to acquire.
Agreed. I just think it was a bad design for the leveling tree. I wonder if it it the same thing for the other professions

other professions need items from other professions as well - anything to do with mining though is going to be terrible

I leveled my Engineering to 97 yesterday and, while I don’t remember the price, I know I would have fallen out of my seat if the Oriblase had cost anywhere near that much.
