In case you’re confused, OP thinks past HKs should count towards honor level and HKs should in reality mean something. Which they should. Honor levels completely invalidated them and made Hks worthless, despite ‘honor level’ being all about getting HONORABLE kills and what not. Don’t know why it’s so hard for people to discern such things from peoples posts.

Wut? HKs have always been a worthless measure. You can get them sitting in stealth doing nothing while other people fight. Honor levels also don’t mean much. Their only real significance is just proof that the person has played the game a lot.
For reference, I’ve played the game since vanilla beta and have fully skipped only one expansion (MOP). So, I haven’t been given credit for HKs before honor levels were put in either. On this account, I have 688 honor levels with 670K HKs, but I’m missing some there from characters that were left behind on a dead account.
Also, people who play many alts (like me) will have inflated honor levels simply because they complete more of the daily and weekly bonus honor quests.
Depends on what, Honor level is even more worthless because you can get honor from non-pvp going back to it’s implementation.

You have an honor level of 55 and you don’t have over 10k HK’s on a single one of your toons, nevermind the “100,000”
Also your oldest achievement is from 2010. So you aren’t even an “OG” as you claims. Get outta here and stop wasting our time, we got premades to complain about.
Took you 19 years to reach 100k kills?
100k / 19 years = 5263 kills per year
5263 / 365 days = 14 kills per day
Grats on doing 1 BG per day. Real OG hardcore PvPer you are!
HKs became meaningless because people ran with premade raids to quickly farm them. They’d spam mass AOEs at gys and farm pugs for hours on end. Out in Azeroth, two premade raids would take turns AOEing each other.
HKs mean nothing now.

@Holycow: Look, I get that some players gamed the system. And while those actions were unfortunate, it shouldn’t negate the countless others who earned HKs legitimately.
@Oozo: Nice detective work there! Yep, different tracking sites have different data – and honestly, with so many alts, changes, and transfers, who can keep track anymore? I do play on alts too. But the crux of my initial point was the respect and acknowledgment for previous efforts, not the precise numbers.
@Deso: True, it’s been a while since the introduction of honor levels. But that doesn’t mean old-timers like me can’t voice our opinions, right? We all have our way of showing commitment to the game.

I’m as OG as it gets, and your HK count has always been nothing more than an epeen metric.
And chasing that epeen lead to a lot of very unenjoyable epic bgs for folks caught on the other side of premade HK farming AV and IOC.
Take whatever pride in that number you need, but don’t expect Blizzard or the rest of us to care.

I don’t think it’s disrespect, I just think that HKs were something they were already tracking but overall honor gained was not and you can’t directly tie one to the other.

What goalposts? Who has more HKS, a higher honor level or a higher rating in arena doesn’t determine who wins a fight in a random BG.
