Alliance get High Elves and Horde get Forsaken Blood Elves (or forsaken night elves or san’layn, whatever you’re in the mood for). Two new elf races, balanced decision. The incoming arguments:
-
THATS A WASTE OF A ALLIED RACE SLOT! -----
Is there a maximum number of allied races that we cant pass that im not aware of? Is there a maximum number of elf races the game is allowed that im not aware of? Please enlighten me.
-
BLOOD ELVES ARE HIGH ELVES! -----
They’re not, you know they’re not, lore says they’re not, in game says they’re not (argent tournament, suramar, dalaran)
-
BUT ION SAID THEY’RE THE SAME AND HE’S THE GAME DEVELOPER ------
Okay he’s the game developer, has he been right about everything he’s said in the past? This entire expansion is a prime example, how many things was he wrong about? And if they are the same, why are they suddenly adding blue eyes option into the game?
-
BUT THEY’RE GONNA LOOK THE SAME AS BLOOD ELVES JUST WITH DIFFERENT EYES AND CUSTOMIZATIONS! -------
Ummm…that’s pretty much every single allied race out there…
Highmountain tauren? Moose ears and tattoos.
Lightforged Draenei? All white with gold tattoos.
Mah’gar orcs? Different skin colors and markings.
Mechagnomes? Robotic limbs.
It’s not like you have to build an entire allied race from the ground up, you guys already have the models, all you need to do is make some racials, heritage armor, a questline, and there’s two new allied races. Instead of all this elf mixing that’s gonna go on with these new customizations, High elf fans on Alliance are happy and have their own new identity while Horde get to keep their Blood Elf identity while getting a badass new allied race that’s also been heavily requested. Everyone wins.

No that is a terrible idea.
I am a fan of the WC2 Alliance and we got that with the new VE customization

No. Please stop. People got their high elves with Blizzard barely having to put any dev time into it, that’s the best compromise possible.

This is not the right thing.

Nah. I don’t like this idea.

And that’s the exact problem, its a compromise that they didn’t have to put any dev time into

they just gave you high elves. accept your gift and say thank you. not good enough? they should take that gift back from you then

… so? People get what they want and Blizzard can keep focusing on expansion content instead of wasting time on another allied race that already looks near identical to not one, but two races we already have.

For the next allied races I’d rather get something more interesting, like Kyrians and Venthyr.

Blizzard gave you the high elf options for the void elf. If you want other options you can play them on Horde. Just like if I want void elf options, I can play them on Alliance.

Who said they have to waste a lot of time? If the model is so identical, why would it take so much time then?

Blizz, give us six more races that use the Blood Elf model. While you’re at it, just cut out the middle man and swap every race to the Blood Elf model, but be sure to adjust their original textures a bit to avoid the nightmare fuel problem.

No. Both sides are getting High Elves with these customization options. A compromise was reached. It’s time to move on from High Elves, the battle is over.

Sorry you didn’t get exactly what you want, but this is a great opportunity to familiarize yourself with the feeling because it happens a lot in life.

How many of these threads need to exist. I like conversation but sheesh.

We don’t need any more elves
Play a void elf

I really don’t think we need 6 separate elf races.
How about a nice ogre and a kitty person?

Wording “Do the right thing” is not the same “Please take my idea into consideration.”
