Got in a 10:05am and it was already sold out :*(
Got mine, hopefully you get a chance next batch.
Just tried myself. Got in like 2 minutes after the sale started and sold out. -_-
Begs the question how many tickets were even up for sale. You’d think with another hall open this year, there’d be more people attending. There’s likely to be like 40-45k people attending. Assuming maybe 10-15k were sold today, there’s something fishy if they all sold out in under 5 minutes. I guess their anti-bot strategy isn’t working.
Clearly the horrible showing last year didn’t deter people from racing to get tickets this year. What are people thinking? Especially after this new preferred status upgrade they have rolled out that symbolizes what is wrong today.
I stopped going to all these places that offer preferred status. If people pay to go it should be equal across the board. No line cutting or special treatment. It is crap.
I was in waiting room 30 mins ahead of time. Sold out by the time I made it to buy. Tickets are already being scalped on ebay. Grrr.
They just want the goodies for the game. First come fitst serve for ingame-items.
I also made it into the waiting room 30min early, was hoping to have a shot but was told they were sold out as soon as my “turn” was up.
Blizzcon is a terribly overpriced event for what is offered. Last time I went I was honestly bored. Played the BFA beta, waited in line for an hour to buy a stein I could have bought online (and it was sold out by the time I got to the front of the line), and just sort of people watched. The best people watching was honestly outside the venue where all the cosplayers were. I could have had most of the same experiences just by getting a hotel room in Anaheim, buying the virtual ticket, and going to all the Blizzcon-related afterparties (which are free or much less expensive).
Don’t get me wrong, an event where you get to hang out with other WoW friends is a great idea, but the price tag is a joke at this point.
Next sale of tickets is this Wednesday, May 8th at 7 pm PDT (10 PM on the East Coast). The virtual waiting area is open 30 minutes prior.
Good luck and hope you get your tickets.
The virtual line doesn’t matter though, you’re chosen at random and people who have been waiting for 30min or just jumped in as they went live have the same chance.
I find this hilarious…
People always spouting that Blizzard needs to listen to their feedback. Hate across all social media platforms with “Don’t you guys have phones?!?!” jokes non stop and people saying no one will go, just stop doing Blizzcon etc.
Then Blizzcon sells out.
I’m sorry, but numbers and metrics > Forum/Social Media feedback.
People happy with the game(s) wouldn’t be the ones on forums complaining so I don’t get your point.
Can’t really argue with this. It also reminds me of angry Star Wars fans who cry tears of pure joy over every trailer and violently hate every movie.
Back to Blizzcon for a second… they really, really need to stop allowing people to change the ticket names after purchase. The eBay aftermarket for these already overpriced tickets is just gross. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Anaheim just did a reservation thing where you had to register each visitor’s name and it was nontransferrable. I’m really not sure why Blizzard doesn’t follow suit.
You are correct, seems I misread about the process. I’ll update my post. Thank you.
