Hello all, figured I’d make a post to speculate on the future.
With the Microsoft shinanigans as of late, I’m curious what will come of blizzcon. I know that Microsoft hosts their own convention: E3.
So with Microsoft using E3 as their mainstream convention, I’m thinking that blizzcon could

Hopefully they continue BlizzCon. I only really play Blizzards games, I didn’t even know E3 existed. 
I think they’ll probably keep it for the Blizzard games kind of like what Activision did but I lowly doubt it now, if that’s a real doubt. I’m fine with it going to E3 and it is a smart business decision since E3 is much bigger than Blizzcon and a lot cheaper to make it all in one show. But I can still see them making Blizzcon for the Blizzard team and having that extra show.
Microsoft really hasn’t messed much with the traditional events the studio’s they buy hold. However, this might not apply because of the employee misconduct that was revealed that happened during blizzcon.
That is not Microsoft’s convention.
Also, these kind of conventions are slowly on their way out. So, you probably won’t see big ones like this for much longer. E3 got shut down and the streams easily filled that void. Comicon wasn’t in person, and studios were still able to generate hype.
So, don’t be surprised when these things are gone.
i dont care if they continue with blizzcon or E3, i do not attend either and when they do happen i always wait for the information to get uploaded to the internet. so it doesnt matter to me what happens with blizzcon
they will probably keep it i mean a lot of people go to it in person. idk how many buy it virtually. it’s great place to meet your friends from in game as well so it does help a lot in terms of promotional imo and community wise.
hopefully they can do a better job with the ticket selling though everytime so many scalpers buy the tickets then screw people over.
For the safety of Ion , i don’t think Blizzcons will happens , before 11.0 or gone .
E3 is fine for the moment , maybe Blizzcons will comeback later , but recently , it look impossible 
I don’t see them getting rid of BlizzCon as long as its a way for them to make $$$
Also, with the way things are right now I don’t know that they would even get an invite to E3 until they clean up their act.
It’s hard to know. I like Blizzcon a lot. But it seemed to be a thing of the past already. Covid and other issues have delayed and cancelled it so much. I think we have to get over the pandemic finally and past the approval process for the buyout first.
Blizzcon has always been operated at a loss for the company. There was no short term gain other then the good will and excitement it generated. Sometimes that turned into profit down the line. It depends on whether MS wants to take the yearly hit (I dont see why not considering the amounts of capital the have)
Blizzcon or E3?
Not big on either, but i like E3 a bit better.
On topic though, i could see them keeping it as a separate event but maybe revising it somewhat. But then again i could see them just adding Blizzard’s stuff to their event as well, i guess time will tell.
