Blizzcon cosplay question

I just bought tickets for my first blizzcon so i dont know about the costume rules. Since their section on this doesnt say specifically and the contact us does nothing but go to a blank screen about blizzcon, i have a question about dressing up.

I know from the thing i cant bring my real frostmourne even though i got it not sharpened and not pointy just for this a few years back.

What i want to know is, There are blacksmiths near me that said the can make real lich king armor didnt know if i could wear that since what their rules are about light weight materiel only being about the weapons and all the rules about cosplay have nothing about real armor

Didnt know if any of you guys have been and know or if anyone knows a link to a contact them number or email thingy where i can ask them. Dont wanna spend money on stuff then not be able to wear it

Ok how about a real response

Just don’t bring any props that could be used as a weapon.

Quick google search, first one at the top.

Specifically:

COSTUME PROPS POLICY

Community costumes are a huge part of what makes BlizzCon so special. In order to help cosplayers and contestants get a better handle on what’s allowed at the convention, we’ve updated and clarified the rules and procedures around costumes at BlizzCon 2019. Please read through these guidelines in advance to minimize unexpected snags when you get to the show and help us ensure the safety of all of our guests.

No functional props or weapons are allowed at BlizzCon. Costume props are allowed subject to prior approval by security and are in compliance with the following:

All costume props must be inspected at one of the Costume Props Desks (located in the Grand Plaza and North Hall 1 entrances). All costume props must conform to state and federal law.

The following guidelines help to dictate whether your prop or weapon could be considered functional:

  • Projectile costume firearms must be rendered inoperable so as not to fire a projectile of any kind, including BBs, pellets, airsoft, foam darts, or any other replica ammunition.
  • Costume bows must either contain no bowstring or be strung loosely as to render them unable to fire an arrow
    • Any accompanying arrows must have no sharp edges or tip of any kind
  • Costume blunt weapons such as hammers, staves, or wands must be made of appropriate lightweight prop-making material (including but not limited to Worbla or foam) and contain no sharp edges or other elements capable of causing harm.
  • Costume swords may not have any sharp edges or tip, and must be made of the appropriate lightweight materials mentioned above.
  • Other prop items not listed here should conform to good judgment to avoid harming or inconveniencing other attendees and are subject to review and approval by show security.

Costumes worn during show hours must be not be wider than 4 feet, longer than 6 feet, or taller than 8 feet. At certain times, due to crowds and safety issues, people in large-sized costumes may be asked to leave the exhibit halls.

After your costume props have been checked, they will be tagged by security to designate that your props have been checked. Daily prop check and approval are required prior to entrance to the show.

Security will escort you to the Costume Props Desk for inspection if your costume prop is not tagged properly.

If you do not want to have your costume props inspected or tagged, or if you are not willing to comply with these policies, please do not bring your costume props to BlizzCon.

Already saw that i was wondering about the costume it doesnt say no real armor

Don’t install the AXS software, as its permissions are terribly invasive & they share/sell your info to 3rd parties - just go to the Solutions Desk at registration once there.

Reference below. It’s pretty clear.

It’s not really clear because they are making a distinction between the props and the actual costume but then they don’t provide any guidelines about the costume.

Ok screw it real armor fake sword if i cant wear it i cant wear it thanks guys appreciate the responses😀

You can wear armor, fake sword etc.

If your armor has spikey things, which can put out eyes if someone trips/or a crowd is pushing for something, then probably don’t do that.

good judgment to avoid harming or inconveniencing other attendees

Real armor might be a bit much. How do you plan on getting it there? Plus, you are really short on time.
