Just wondering if there are any rumors about a Blizzcon 2025. I know we skipped this year but I would love any rumors about one next year.

I heard a rumor that they were going to announce the new Queen for Alliance, and her name is Rita.

I heard they were planning a curtain malfunction so when they were supposed to take stage it would take another 4 hours for the event to start! After recent events they thought it might appear insensitive.

Im sure they will do one so they can announce midnight and such.

They actually lose money by hosting Blizzcon, so I would be surprised if it makes a return in the form we’ve known it to be. Digital events/streams are the future, for better or worse.
They decided to timegate it for an additional year

The event may lose money, but the hype it builds for all of the products I think more than makes up for it.

Honestly, with 2024 being cancelled on the 20th Anniversary of World of Warcraft, 30th of the Warcraft Franchise, I wouldn’t get my hopes up for 2025. They don’t have any expansions to announce, and if they want to release expansions faster, then we should have Midnight some time early 2026. BC25 would just be talking about the alpha/beta (which WoWhead does for free).
They announced 3 expansions at BC23, and that just takes away a lot of the hype for a Blizzcon. WoW was by far the most crowded section and if they can’t figure out how to plan an event where the majority of attendees want to be in one section, while the other 3 remain ghost towns, it’s probably best they don’t do it. BC23 was such a mess.
They’ll probably lump WoW into Microsoft’s E3 Replacement Conference in June 2025.
However, if they do go through with it, we won’t hear anything until April-June of 2025.

Easier and cheaper to just bring them in as extra MS material at other events at a guess.
Could still be possible though.

I heard they aren’t doing one in 24. But nothing has been said about the future events. I know i am jumping the gun so to speak trying to look for information. But I had fun at BlizzCon 23 and look forward to doing another one. Granted it was my first but I would plan it better than the last time.

2024 was confirmed not happening. 2025 might happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they opt to just merge it with one of the events Xbox gets involved in/go the streaming route in the future.

Yup.
Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and other biggies all just do the occasional live stream to make announcements and generate hype. I think giant gaming conventions like Blizzcon are mostly a thing of the past. It’s sad but it is what it is.
