Blizzcon 2021

Next November, should the past trend hold true, Blizzard should announce the next expansion. Are they having a November event as they are having a Feb one already? Also, any thoughts on the next expansion?

I think we should focus on Shadowlands right now. There’s no evidence of where it might lead to, not that there has ever been in the past.

That said, I’m still hoping for a time skip that’ll bring WoW to modern times, especially on Azeroth (Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms).

World of Warcraft: Things Are Normal For Once

An expansion where we get to relax and enjoy spa amenities and player housing so our Champion and everyone on Azeroth can take a much needed vacation from another world-ending catastrophe. People can get some therapy to help with their anxiety from such events, and issues can be laid to rest.

I’m guessing Burning Crusade Classic for this next Blizzcon. Not sure about next November maybe a Diablo 4 release date?

Blizzard should definitely be focusing on SL. As a long time player, I look at trends and I just wonder if we are going to be getting major spoilers this November. I enjoy the Shadowlands story thus far and I noticed that there are a potential of 3 to 4 more paths in the portal room.

Lol I aged my toon a bit over the expansions. I like your idea because it would give me an excuse to de white my beard.

The interesting part is I don’t think many past expansions have been predictable with what we have in the first few weeks of one.

Regardless of what Ion said, I’m clinging to the “time moves differently in the Shadowlands” aspect of the interviews leading up to this expansion, haha.

We don’t know the details of next Blizzcon if it’ll be held, too early for that. But next expansion is really impossible to say. We can’t predict anything on how Shadowlands will play out and what it could lead into. So much brand new lore.

Personally I’m thinking Dragon Isles. Because it was confirmed they exist in BfA and Blizz does do foreshadowing like that long in advance. Can’t say what story reason would lead to it though, but it’d be really cool to get back into dragon lore and the secrets they’re hiding. It’s an option!

I am hoping for a time jump and revamp of azeroth. I would kinda like to see it more regressive than progressive though and show us coming back to a fallen empires type of scenario.

It will be an xpac of systems on top of more systems and rental powers.
They keep making them, we keep paying for and playing them.
Why would they change doing what they do?

It will also likely use a lot of walking to artificially boost MAU’s.

That’s what I would like.

The biggest issue especially with WoW’s story at this time, is we’ve fallen into the anime trap of somehow always finding enemies to fight that are a step above the last “all powerful enemies” we fought before. First, it was the Burning Legion. Then the Titans. Then the Old Gods. Then the Void Lords. Now the Death Pantheon, which we’re likely going to defeat the Jailer who is “Titan plus plus.” So where do we go from here?

Personally, I want a return of the lesser evils. The Defias Brotherhood, the Scarlet Crusade, the Grimtotem, I want to explore and adventure again. And I think that could happen with a little narrative magic explaining that our time in the Shadowlands has caused us to move forward in time, where the world has moved on and progressed without us. Azeroth is updated to the modern graphic engine, and the beginning of the expansion is trying to figure out what happened to the word while we were gone.

I don’t know, something like that would be a nice reset of the game, because once we kill death where do we really go?

my only thought is stop using the same sytem and calling it new. Garrison, class hall, the ship in BFA, and now covenant. You aren’t fooling anyone do something different for God sakes.

The best part is that they could easilly use the same terrain. Ruin some cities and towns and rebuild others. Keep the original separate and have the new Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor as a more Savage version. Explore some fun ideas. Maybe the Tauren or Dwarves become the tyrannical empire while something like centaurs are fighting back or the humans and orcs are fighting together against the ones they used to nominally rule. The possibilities are endless.

So long as we avoid “the next step” in villains, we have an entire world of possibilities. I just really worry that Blizzard/other players will balk at returning to something less epic than “killing a Death God stronger than any other being we’ve seen before.”

So when is the next Blizzcon January or February? I heard that they canceled this year because of Covid 19 and were planning an online event at the beginning of next year.

Online event in Feb, I believe.
