My work situation is such that for 2019 annual leave I have left it a bit late but still possible to maybe arrange time off. That said...
Seems a pattern in recent time is the first Friday/Saturday of November. Fairly consistent.
But... if you look at the precedents and go back a bit you will see that the year they could have held Blizzcon on the 1st/2nd the date was instead 8th/9th.
In 2019 we have that situation again.
Yeah... book both weekends any way? But it isn't that simple where I work.

I just booked a room in the Marriott for the first weekend and will change it if the dates prove to be different. Once the availability shows up, I intend to book in the Hilton. Assuming I can't, I already have the Marriott reservation.
With regards to scheduling with work, I can't say I've ever had a job where the employer needed a year notice on vacation. The best I can offer is to submit for it with a note or warning to your boss that you may have to adjust the dates for another weekend.

I believe they stay away from setting it on the 1st/2nd due to Halloween. They always host a benefit dinner the Thursday before Blizzcon and I'm sure they would not want to hold that event on Halloween.

Price will be up another $10 next year, to $60 for virtual ticket.
Rewards for WoW will be a foot xmog and a white flag banner, because those people love to surrender their money.
Right before that, Blizz will offer an airplane-style mount for anyone that buys a 6-month subscription. The airplane mount won't fly, though.

I wouldn't be too surprised if they don't have a Blizzcon next year, due to the negativity surrounding this year's.
The more important thing is if I am getting a battle pet next year.
