i know i went and double checked the page myself and deleted the post when i saw i was wrong lmao

how many updates does that make?

I was joking about it earlier in the thread but I think we're up to four revisions, at least?

-Initial page update: no Zandie Paladins, no KT Mage
-Panel update: Zandie Paladins/locks, no KT Mage
-Interview: Zandie Paladin/lock, maybe KT Mage in the future according to Afrasiabi
-Update: Zandie Paladin but no lock, KT Mage is in
The in game stuff for Derek Proudmoore is in now. I uhhhhh think I'm gonna race change my orc warrior back over to the Alliance for a bit.

Homeboy is literally crucified in a Zandalari ritual chamber (so much for Talanji's rebuke of Sylvanas' actions) and being watched - by Baine - have pure concentrated Forsaken Free Will(TM) beamed visually into his brain on either side while he screams about the experiences of his death and begs not to be left alone.

Cool.

At least now Sylvanas has her Arthas conditioning Bolvar scene laid out.

I love it. However, it's kind of immediately thrown in the bin as apparently there's a follow up where Anduin goes "Man. I did make the wrong choice. Champion, sudden Pocket Infantry Regiment, please go with them."

So as always, we get a dramatic beat of how there's just not enough to go around but now there's enough to go around.

Baine's strongly worded letter is going to be so strongly worded.

Nice. Tree burns down, the Kaldorei get their balls back. Really tempting me to roll a Night Elf.

Who's ready for leveling to suck less again?

Who's ready for leveling to suck less again?

https://www.wowhead.com/news=288495/experience-required-to-level-reduced-in-8-1-ptr-build-28366

Highlights (unless I punched in numbers wrong) -
  • Experience needed to level from 20-120 reduced by 22.3%
  • Experience needed to level from 60-80 (the big ball buster right now) reduced by 74%
  • Experience needed to level from 110-120 reduced by 0.36% - As someone in the comments section put it, though, this equates to a single herb / mining node.
I am so ready for faster leveling.

And kinda hoping that Tyrande drastically over-reaches in Darkshore and the Horde fails to grab hold of any territory in Arathai. I am really digging the Horde-Kalimdor Alliance-Eastern Kingdom vibe and having the world literally divided between these two Super-Powers, with the Horde seemingly claiming the Broken Isles, large swaths of Northrend and Zandalar, while the Alliance plants it's banner in both Pandaria and Kul'tiras.

The Horde gets more territory, but it's hotly contested by the Scourge or ravaged by Legion invasions and warfare, while the Alliance gets less territory, but it's rich in resources and there's next to no problem with the Alliance being there.

As much as I enjoy seeing the tension and division in the leadership of both Alliance and Horde, I am just not seeing how the Night Elves can get their lands back without Kalimdor being suddenly devoid of every Orc, Tauren and Troll who steps anywhere near a tree or bush.

I am also giggling madly as I imagine the hypocrisy of Illidan taking in forbidden power in a desperate attempt to save his people and getting imprisoned for ten thousand years, but Tyrande does the same thing for the same reason and nobody even flinches. On the one hand, chuffed to see the Night Elves return to being 'Like elves, but far too savage', but on the other hand ... what happens when Tyrande can't get enough victims to feed the Night Warrior's bloodlust?

And she doesn't have enough troops to push the Horde back and has to take her people back home to the Eastern Kingdoms, with many now also bearing the mark of the Night Warrior.

So we're gonna have three factions within the Alliance infested with Dark/Void energies (Night Elves and Ren'dorei and possibly Kul'tiran Tide-Sages?) and four factions obsessed with the Light (Humans, Dwarves, Draenei and Lightforged Draenei) and there's already blood in the water courtesy of Tyrande being outraged that Anduin is actually showing some understanding of basic military strategy and not over-extending his forces. And the regiment he sends to help? Where is he pulling them from to go help the Night Elves?

Hoping Anduin's attempt to help his allies comes back to bite him in a big way and we start to see ye olde "My pain is greater than yours!" arguments amongst the Alliance leadership to add some spice to their half of the story.

Also just so pumped to see the Shal'dorei leader outright pointing to the whole "This feels a lot like Legion tactics" with the Proudmoore angle and there's a lot of the newly-raised Forsaken going ".... Whoa, no. No. Stop that right now." as well as Baine finally openly stating he's sick and tired of all of this madness right to Sylvanas's face, which, when you consider just what Sylvanas gets up to and how much the other leaders of the Horde know she gets up to, takes some serious brass. Gonna be fun to see how the Horde survives this expansion and if the Alliance will remain cohesive in the face of so much loss and the new divides being hammered into place by the whims and vendettas of their leaders.

The difference is in the power sources. Illidan decided that dining on the souls of infernal beings was the best chance at success. Tyrande's invoking an aspect of her people's acknowledged and accepted Divine Being.

Though I feel the need to point out that Illidan signing on with the Legion temporarily wasn't what got him imprisoned for ten thousand years. But in re-creating the Well of Eternity (which at that time was the Legion's sole entry point into Azeroth) and then killing fellow Night Elves when they rightfully objected.

Heck, Malfurion's intervention is the only reason he was imprisoned. Jared was fully ready to cut his fool head off. Not for daemonic fraternization, but for outright murder.

what happens when Tyrande can't get enough victims to feed the Night Warrior's bloodlust?

Same thing that happens to Death Knights that don't get enough people to kill. Nothing.

That or she'll kill Shandris is a blatant "MORALLY GRAY!" moment.

STERNLY.
WORDED.
LETTER.

Seriously, his dad invoked ritual trial by combat before Garrosh did anything even remotely suspect. Saying Baine's got some stones to finally stand up and say "This is an outrage and if it continues much further I think I shall have something to say about it." is hardly courageous considering he vowed with Vol'jin to never let another Garrosh happen with the Horde.
Illidan also kind of drank the Moon Guard.

"Do you think he's compensating for something? Aheenheeh, a-heenh..."
So remember when, in Darkshore, some of the Night Elves refugees declared the Master's Glaive was taken by the Horde, and we all kind of brushed it off as meaning the area?

Nope. Turns out Sylvanas might have had another motive for the Darkshore Invasion, to take the actual Master's Glaive.

The Titan Sword that was keeping Soggoth the Slitherer in death-like stasis.

And then he woke up: https://i.imgur.com/zTL0Yub.jpg?1

Also.

Baine's a !@#$ing sociopath. He stands there and not only watches, but listens, to all of these questions Derek is asking. Questions he can answer. Comments he can make. Comfort he can provide if this really bothers him that much. And he just ignores it all and lets him writhe and finally goes off on a miniature tirade about how Sylvanas is hurting the Horde brand perception and leaves.

And one last also.

Allegedly the ritual chamber being used to do this is a hallowed space to Bwonsamdi? The patron loa of the royal family? The guy who already doesn't like Sylvanas and undead? And both he and Talanji just kinda go "Man that's whack" and leave it be.
