Unless there is a Blue Post or anything from a dev stating anything about this then take it as the usual rumor mill.

If they were going to do that, they’d have to do it at the start of a new tier and tune the encounters accordingly, i highly doubt they’d do it mid-tier. Personally, i’d prefer content were tuned around normal human levels of ability as opposed to assuming everyone has DBM and Weakauras.

Lol I remember this. They were so upset we would listen to online radio music and they finally banned all that type of add-on.

I’m sorry I don’t like endless bagpipes. T.T I know everyone else is hype on howling fjord but I will never be.

OG WoW community DEMANDED add ons be banned. They claimed it was cheating / hacking.

Also, some of the OGs would download from anywhere - and they would install instead viruses on the computers.

Anyway, I would prefer in game functions - especially DPS meters.

I’ll def mod the f out of my game as long as it’s legal. Still use default UI, but if I want notes on my maps and my mount journal to look better, gonna do it. You can kick rocks. Freedom baby!

What exactly do people find so invaluable about DBM?

I run BigWigs in the background but the first thing I do before every tier is turn everything off. And it’s very rare that I have anything turned on at all.

Examples of when I thought an addon was esssential on a boss encounter:

  1. Mythic Queen Azshara
  2. That Pirate Dragon boss in Soleah’s Gambit

I’m not seeing how boss mods are really important, in general.

Why? No rules are broken with it. It only provides information you theoretically have access to. It aids people with poor memories.

I have information processing issues. Dbm makes fights that would otherwise me incredibly difficult to impossible to actually manageable.

That would be awesome. High level pvp is just weakaura wars. You should have to try and time enemy CDs, not have everything told to you by a cheat program.
