Boss encounter addons have existed since Vanilla. DBM and Big Wigs don’t play the game for you.

Blizzard provides the code for addons, if they dont like a certain functionality they can disable it on the fly. They also announce beforehand which addons they will disable like the one that let players to draw patterns or the one that modified character models.

They existed but Blizz wasn’t designing raid encounters assuming you had them so you didn’t need them unlike now.
A great way to add artificial difficulty to the game. Make those collectors go to websites to find where those rare mobs spawn. Everybody will need to prove they keep their data on a pad of paper and use a pencil in order to be allowed to play content.

While you’re focusing on mechanics, it’s good to know if you have enough damage output to beat enrage timers.

I’ve wiped more to DPS tunneling and dropping stuff they should run out for on the raid then I have hitting enrage timers.

They are not designing raids around DBM and Big Wigs. And I highly doubt that many people want mindless tank n spank that made you fall asleep. There were very few interesting encounters in Vanilla.
Go make your own server if you’re so triggered by UI addons. Blizz has supported addons.for 18 years and continues to do so.

Why would they do a complete 180 on something they’ve actively supported for the last 18 years and design their game around.
Addons are going to stay. Just because 1 person is to lazy to download them and set up certain ones, doesn’t mean they are going away.

Discord isn’t a Blizz product. Discord is used for people playing this and other game to communicate and that’s it.
I think if that was going to happen it would have been in the notes just put out and would be a more reliable source than Discord chat.
Unless you see a actual statement from Blizz take it with a grain of salt at best.
