This type of gameplay killed a lot of other MMOs because it was mostly catered to hardcore raiders and people who had time to waste. Blizz was smart enough to make WoW more casual to appeal to a wider group of players while still keeping the competitive edge in raiding.
Can you explain why ppl with multiple accounts still support btags on the forums?
I am a bit doubtful. Of course you are exaggerating the 500 remark. But I guess I dont know what point you are trying to make.
There are a variety of people doing things that could be seen as sketchy. Just because some people have forum alts to like their own posts doesnt mean what some streamers do shouldnt be called out either.
Its an exaggeration that people are talking seriously. So I sorta roll my eyes.
“There is too much on the screen to know whats happening!!”
“ok…but not really?”
“I mean, i was just exaggerating, I didnt really mean there was too much on the screen!”
“ok…but what did you mean?”
“that there is too much on the screen!”
"too much on the screen for what?
No.
But its logical that if a person doesnt do certain content they may not realize what is happening within said content.
I dont PVP. Trying to watch PVP blows my mind because I feel there is so much going on. But a person accustomed to PVP will follow it much easier because they participate in that content. I was watching an arena stream and I absolutely need the commentators to tell me whats happening because I cant follow it. Thats on me for not being familiar with the content.
I cant speak for other people. I dont know what that has to do with disliking streamers.
I’m not talking about streamers rn.
I am talking about ppl I have “known” from moon guard on these forums with a ton of accounts who are still in favor of btag on the forums.
Ok.
Ask them?
I dont know why I would know why this alleged event happened.
Honestly, it doesn’t matter. they can keep their degen ways, ig. I will never understand.
Asmongold just doesn’t like wow anymore, at most he streams on a patch release.
It’s not that cut and dry though. I’ll give you a solid example:
Hell, I need to blow up my mouse curser twice its size in Accessibility AND have a Weakaura that draws a green circle around it just so I don’t lose it in a chaotic raid fight… because I gotta click bars to target my buffs.
Let’s just say crap like that used to not happen in Classic… and maybe that feeds into some of the reason why end game activity in classic has routinely beaten Retail ever since it released, at least to my knowledge. In fact, it seems like each subsequent raid is the least active raid tier in Retail’s history throughout an expansions lifecycle.
Classic raids have a much much much lower barrier to enter as well.
They are easier in every way possible. I think that definitely plays into participation.
I am ok with classic existing. I am ok with more challenging retail content as well. I dont know why its wrong for either to exist.
It’s not - and I don’t mind if Mythic Raiding is so damn hard, you basically have to keep your butt cheeks clinched for 4 straight months to get cutting edge - but, heck, it’s just as hard to see the mechanics on LFR Nymue as Mythic Nymue, as another example. Green on Green on Green on Green.
There’s lessons from Classic that can improve Retail - that’s what I’m getting at here.
The Nymue issue isnt so much “too much stuff on the screen” its “art dept forgot that more than one color exists”
It ain’t easy seeing green.
This is true.
Green is not a creative color.

Be that as it may though, it all feeds into the player experience. Folks aren’t gonna have that nuianced of a take and be like: “That’s not really encounter designs fault, that’s the artists fault.” They’re just gonna be like: “I have no idea what’s happening in this fight and it’s stupid.”
And while I get that, its also important to (in the end) specify what the actual issue is. Otherwise you cant always fix it. Or the fix might not actually address it, because the problem was left too vague.
Oh for sure.
Wasn’t this old news?
Asmongold only talk about WoW because he knows that idiots will clap like trained seals when he says WoW sucks.
Asmongold is a very average raider, he just has a lot of simps that will carry him through raids if he says their name on stream. Watching him in VotI Mythic was hilarious.
thank you for putting to words the feelings i was having toward him, this 100%
To be honest I kind of respect him for realizing where the real money is. He recognized pretty quickly that there is a much bigger market pandering to people who either quit WoW years ago and need constant affirmation that they made a good decision, or people who are hopelessly addicted to WoW but don’t have the willpower/self-control to stop playing and are seeking an outlet for their frustration rather than to the people who currently enjoy the game in its many forms.
