Blizzards Population Gets Older yet they Make the story more PG?

You can cite a hundred examples of darker and more mature themes in the game and they will be intentionally ignored because for the people complaining about these things, it doesn’t matter as long as cute / silly stuff exists alongside it. You might as well try to reason with a sock in your laundry basket.

You have a lot to learn about aging, and the only way to learn that is … to age.

A reminder that Dragonflight comes after a 4 year bender that kicked off with a genocide into a world war and was followed by the existential horror of reality breaking down.

But since since now, we’ve had 1 year without soul crushing nihilism, manhoods are being threatened.

There was 1 single time that Blizzard’s employees understood. And an NPC couldn’t have said it better.

“Slow down, life is to be savored”.

Life. Not a game. There is a difference.

I mean theres always super mario sunshine if you don’t like nihilism. A bunch of us, started playing world of warcraft, for the warcraft. Not to hug and kiss and prance around holding hands. Alot of us liked the kill or be killed nature for the world. It made it more consequential to leave a city. It made adventuring actually dangerous. Has nothing to do with manhood. Has everything to do with excitement.

Oh,that version never seen that one. But what part of wow would you wish to carry on ?

I would totally believe that.

If we, again, weren’t acting like a single year cooldown from 4 years of groin kicking nihilism didn’t exist lol.

Which this tries to imply.

We can argue about the story not being particularly interesting, and I’d agree to an extent. I personally like it, but only because I am going out of my way to ignore its horrible pacing problems.

But when someone makes a post crying that effectively reads to me as “whaaa why are we talking about feelings when we could be mindlessly killing everything!” I’m sorry. I can’t take it seriously.

I’m not really getting the argument about it being “less dangerous”.

Like, we still quest outside, there’s Rares and Elites outside, fall damage, lava, ores that set you on fire, plants that knock you off cliffs, Warmode.

The game is more dangerous if anything.

Since you asked nicely, sure. I have a low tolerance for bigots.

I can only assume they mean pvp. Since this expansion has explicitly stated that the Horde and Alliance presence on the Dragon Isles are as allies.

Now if they meant specifically through gameplay, well the argument makes even less sense because the open world hasn’t been dangerous for anyone in years.

Yep and yep.

And world PvP has been fun in DF (I love the Duck jousting and supply drops). It’s there, you can coordinate groups for it.

World PVE is as dangerous as it ever was, which is to say, not.

Son of Arugal is an outlier and should not be counted.

Thats the inherent problem. No body asked for a cooldown.

I mean why are we talking about feelings? No nobody cares about feelings in a game. I don’t care if Jaina has a love story or if sylvanas deserves redemption. Who am i here to defeat next? Thats the challenge, thats the fun part.

The thing is, you don’t have to contend with other players if you wish not to. There should be safe home zones as it were, but there should be unsafe contested zones where you have no choice but to fight, or run. Player vs player.

So… Warmode. It’s there for you. Go nuts, my dude.

We have those. They are are called battlegrounds.

Or if you want REALLY “unsafe” try Hardcore Classic.

This is one of those philosophical shortcomings that cause a lot of suffering out there.

Games do not suspend reality. They are a use of your time.

And time is quite literally the measure of your life.

Anybody who thinks that games aren’t real life are dying and don’t know it.

Shouldn’t be war mode. If you enter durotar, i should be able to attack you
Simple. Like wise if i go to goldshire.

Take it up with the person saying this is a recent thing.

What?

The person in question literally has complained about politics being recently inserted into WoWs story and equated that with specific things I mentioned

This makes sense as long as you ignore forum history and the personal posting history.
