Blizzard's Lore Q&A

Q: Playing the Horde has me feeling badly. Can you explain the lore behind every pet in the pet battle system for the whole hour?

A: I thought you’d never ask!

TBC gameplay was trash LK, Cata and MoP were actually good. Cata was just hard… I’ve actually really enjoyed retpal in BFA probably more than I ever have. But I can see the problems for other classes.

Why have you guys gone from the more open, roleplay freindly stories to these terrible linear ones, Jaina is like Elminster, solving all the problems for the player as it currently is.

There is gameplay outside of just class/spec feel. I won’t argue that generally classes are better in the newer expansions than the old. But when I talk about gameplay I mean the day to day activities, an actual reason to log on. If I were simply talking about class feel, I would say this expansion is irredeemable because I main an enh shaman so RIP.

I’m surprised you didn’t care for TBC though, you are the minority for that.

I wouldn’t say the game is overly linear, though I can see where you’re coming from since I’m no longer just a random adventurer but now the hero of Azeroth, champion, farseer etc etc.
My issue with the stories now is they feel less refined, it doesn’t feel like they really sit down and think about how it feels to experience and watch it unveil. It went from a novel to a fanfiction.

my bad I just assumed you were talking about classes, it was pretty late for me when I posted that.
TBC was good in the aspect, I just hated class design back then.
I agree though. the systems in place seem quality of life, yet completely boring. Like daily quests for example used to be fun and I actually enjoyed learning about the faction I was grinding the reputation for. That isn’t the case anymore, excluding Sarumar that whole gig was pretty fun.

Yeah but that was Legion, which I said was on the good side of expansion day to day experience.

I get you, I was just talking about the world quest system in general as it is fairly recent

Heads up for everyone this is happening on the 10th.

Thanks for the update. I actually just now googled it to look for more information, after seeing your reminder.

I usually skim the Dev streams for info relevant to me - and I skip passed stuff I don’t concern myself with.

This might be the first Dev stream I watch completely, from start to finish. Depending on the presentation and format. I am very interested in what they have to say about their position on a few subjects.

“What is it like being a being a creator of such a wonderful game?”

To be fair it’s going to be Terran Gregory and Steve Danuser answering questions not Ion :stuck_out_tongue:

“Is Nathanos a Self Insert?” >:D

I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen that question yet from anyone but I only read the first page. I can’t figure out how to upvote >.> there’s no button there and I’m definitely logged in. Am I blind?

If you mouse over the comment upvote/downvote thumbs will appear on the bottom left.

Why is Nathanos a cringy, self-insert character meant to fuel their writer’s mommy fetish for Sylvanas?

All the way on the third page with -6 votes.

Still not working for me, it’s probably a browser issue.

should we use the power of our alts to upvote comments?

I wouldn’t recommend it. They might be willing to overlook that kind of thing on the forums, but when they’re looking for actual community feedback it might be a different story.
