Blizzard's head of HR, Jesse Meschuk, is also no longer at the company, Bloomberg has learned

Line’em up.

Next will be the HR rep who received the complaints and did nothing.

If your name is not Overlord Bobby Kotick… you are not safe.

Good. This is mostly their fault they ignored claims and allowed blacklisting of people who made them.

I know people like to blame Bobby…
But I don’t think activision is why we’re in this mess. I think blizzard did this to themselves.

They stopped being gamers.

Good they need someone in there who can do their job properly. He obviously couldn’t handle it.

Ion and his hired law firm can go next.

It’s the duty of the people in charge to make sure issues like this are taken seriously.

I’m not saying it’s Bobby’s fault but he certainly could have done more.

Regardless, it’s not a reason for him to get fired. Detestable as he can be at times, this is about sexual harassment and if he didn’t play a part in it, he isn’t a direct part of the problem here.

Excellent, it looks like the company is being cleaned up. Although I’m sure the only reason they’re being removed now is because the company can no longer cover up their actions. I’m sure Blizzard would have been more than willing to look the other way if all the recent news didn’t expose everything.

Ion next please

You guys should find a hobby.

The issue is I think previous leadership were about tenure (not talent) which created an artifice “bubble” for WoW developers that caused accountability to go out the window.

Today’s drip, drip, drip…

Best quote: An HR rep reportedly told one employee to “suck it up” because they were “acting like a brat.” Another told Axios that after she was assaulted by a male colleague, the HR rep took his side, telling her to work from home or switch departments. “He’s really sorry and he really wants to work at Blizzard. And he says that you were really friendly with him,” they reportedly said.

Best quote: People have been cautioned against filing a report or attempting to take action against harassers or bad actors, one current employee says. “They say things like, ‘This isn’t a fight you want to fight.’”

It’s kind of old news because that SVP actually left in January. If I’m not mistaken, Blizzard hired a director and associate director of HR in Q2.

Why would I be at all unsurprised that people hired in roles with the deliberately demeaning title of “Human Resources” end up treating the humans they rule over like cattle?

Sheesh, I’m so glad I avoided corporate life. I may not have a yacht, but I still have my soul.

I honestly think being gamers is part of the problem. Gaming culture is toxic and horrible as a whole.

THIS. I still have som human decency.

Have Frans Townsend and Ion Hazzikostas step down next, and then I will resub to WoW.

Why should Ion step down?
He wasn’t involved in any of this as far as I’ve heard.
