Blizzard's firing of commentator's

Blizzard recently fired a high profile AWC commentator strictly because they frequently criticize the direction the game has taken on their Twitch stream.

Seems like a huge overreaction. Obviously on streams everyone exaggerates a little for entertainment value, but he didn’t say anything vulgar, Twitch has no problem with this person. All he did was give (in my opinion fair) criticisms of the current way the game has been going, especially BFA.

Just because he critique’s the game doesn’t mean he doesn’t like it. He obviously cares deeply about WoW otherwise he wouldn’t dedicate his life to being part of the community of the game.

Blizzard literally snagged a man’s career out from under him because he had the audacity to say things such as he was frustrated with what he got in his Mythic + weekly chest random casino box.

I personally don’t approve of this and wish Blizzard didn’t take itself so seriously. This is a video game company.

IMPORTANT EDIT: To anyone trying to claim I am throwing around baseless accusations go see for yourself. The commentator’s name is easily searchable. I haven’t posted it in order to avoid getting this post removed. Look up “Blizzard lets go on AWC commentator” on youtube or google. Asmongold and others have talked about it. The commentator themselves explains why they were let go.

Anyone commenting here about “baseless accusations” is just trying to derail my thread in a desperate attempt to defend blizzard’s actions. The “evidence” you seek is readily available.

Is there evidence to this claim? Or is the firing reason an assumption? Just curious, any links to this I can read?

It was an assumption and assumptions somehow become facts when said over and over again on these forums

Companies exist for one thing: to make money. That’s it, whether it’s video games or computers or cars or anything else.

If a “high profile” person at any company was constantly criticizing that company, which could very well impact that company’s revenue stream, then I would expect the company to sever ties with that person.

Does it suck? Yeah. But there are always consequences to the things we do.

I would be curious to know if he was under contract and violated that with the things he said.

I mean it was obvious he had problems with the game. You kinda have to be subtle about it, probably wasn’t subtle enough about it.

But he’s a decent streamer now, and will probably still do the race for world first broadcast.

Looks like they are learning a thing or two from the CCP

I mean this is marketing, is having the guy bashing your game (truth or not) worth having him on your official broadcast?

It’s sad for people that care about him, but he’ll find other opportunies I’m sure when you got talent.

Exactly what I was thinking. It’s funny to me. These people obviously have never tried to run a company

So people can’t criticize other companies now?

Go to your job and tell all your customers that the company is heading in a bad direction and they should take their business elsewhere.

You’re full of it. You know full well there is more then enough evidence, you just are trying to derail the thread to shill for daddy Blizzard.

Yes there is. The commentator themselves posted a video about it. His name is Rich Campbell on Youtube.

I have no comments about the firing, I’m not informed enough for that. But, in general, don’t publicly bad-mouth the people who pay your salary! I don’t recommend it! If you have a suggestion or complaint, tell them privately. You will both be much better off.

What’s wrong with that exactly? You can’t handle being exposed of the truth? Like the method guild who protected a predator for 3 years?

Because that’s an unbiased source of information.

So where did you think they got the evidence from?

What evidence? I haven’t seen any at all.

It’s not about the truth when money is on the line.

Do it and see if your company cares about “the truth”.

That’s no excuse defending bad behavior of a company and did blizzard pay you to defend them too? After all that CCP money must be getting into your head lol.
