I keep seeing posts about the black friday sale but I only really remember a big sale for wow during the christmas season (mid-december - january) because that’s when I usually got store mounts & pets half off.
Is this black friday sale a recent change and I haven’t been paying attention?

It’s not only for WoW, it’s all Blizzard’s games apparently.
I think they’ve done this a few years now, but it’s not something they always did.

Services were just on sale from Oct 22 through the 31st. Mounts and pets sale should be end of December. Not sure when they’ll do another services sale. Could be then, could be New Years. Maybe not any time soon since they just had one. Unsure.

If I already own WoW do I get a discount on my sub?
I too was surprised to see not a single discount for Black Friday on any WoW game items/services. Not a one.
Maybe it’s an oversight because that tagline on the launcher says "up to 67% off on CoD, D-IV, World of Warcraft, and more…

This Blizzard Black Friday sales 2024 is a complete joke for WOW, even their notorious greedy blood sucking no moral China WOW operator partner is currently offering 50% discount on in game contents like pet and mount to their Chinese WOW players and Blizzard you are doing this to us?

Personally, I would’ve loved if Blizzard added back all the dragon plushies for ‘Dragonflight’ on the gear store 
As for TWW, I’ll gladly accept a Xal’atath body-pillow as a compromise
