With level scale, player lost the real world feeling, every mod is identical the same, all quests are so easy that players don’t need to find group to fight high level mob. Player lost the chance to meet more people, talk, make friend.
With LFG / LFR, player and player in same group, they will never meet again, they will not remember each other.
Blizzard, you lost the key concept of MMORPG, the game is designed to be a community, but now player are playing with random people everyday.
I know my guild
I know the people on my realm (that are good players in pve / pvp)
I know the people who do RBGs, even on horde
I know the people who are always happy to push m+ together
Community was never shaped by the developers, they provided tools to assist with it, but it is up to people to engage.
First half I strongly disagree with; I think the scaling made the world more realistic and fun, and actually encourages grouping up for group quests since the mob will always be a little stronger than you (till it’s cap of course.)
The second half though you’re kind of spot on. I do like that you don’t have to spam chat to find a group much anymore, but I also think that the content being too easy has helped it come to where’s there’s 0 need to communicate unless you’ve got a noob tank.
I’m glad, being a night owl there’s nobody out there. You could be sitting there for hours waiting on others to show up to take on some formidable enemies. Fortunately my main is a druid so I just go Bear and solo, beating hard elites by attrition… very slowly.
If you think level scaling made leveling worse, you must have forgotten how leveling was before scaling was implemented. Also, players didn’t lose the chance to do anything. People are as social as they want to be. You think there are no solo players in classic? Think again.
I remember all the friends i do content with. Also, chances are I’m never going to see half the people I’ve seen in classic again.
I solo’ed a 27 quest mob on my 22 hunter in classic last night for a quest. It took me 3 attempts, but I did it. I was soloing equal level elite mobs in WC before that.
I can’t decide. I hated having to drop quests / move to a new zone halfway through. I love that I can pick what zones I want to quest in now (although - lower the level cap for all zones blizz!)
But I also get that I’m basically a hamster on a wheel now. Leveling up actually makes me weaker against my enemies, and that’s super weird.
I think they should have just let us “opt in” to questing below our level, like how the upcoming feature in 8.2.5 works… And keep the world the same for when we want to pop out and smash stuff that’s below us.
