Honestly, not all the fault is on Blizzard. Alliance players chose to switch over to Horde. And the remaining Alliance players just whine about it so it makes it really unappealing to join such a whiny faction.
You never have to turn your PvP flag on. I don’t and enjoy my PvE experience just fine. I don’t feel like I am behind anybody (not that I would care if I was, that is entirely self inflicted unhappiness). Just turn it off, and enjoy the game how you want to.
But the quest clearly states [Collect items while pvp flagged]… when i turne dit off, the mechs never dropped it.
Why do people always have to say this? Does it make them feel anymore epic? Like what does playing in Vanilla have to do with your question?

In this persons defense as to the previous post, they supported this company in its infancy as did I (something a new I.T. business depends on) however that being said, Everyone else has a point. Blizzard has other options for Rep / Advancement besides /pvp - known as Warmode now. There are plenty of ways to advance without pvp, at least there was and is for me. This may seem a little “out there” but perhaps you are sore about WoW’s wide deviation from a more D&D theme they once loosely held to? IF so I agree and long for that too. I suggest you try classic before forming such opinions. If its not your thing then maybe just move on?
