I mean MMR… been in soo may games where and entire team is fill with 1400-1600 facing the other team filled with 1700-2200…couldnt they at least balance it out a little between the 2 team… this is pathetic
I have never seen gaps like that. I do see gaps in CR, not MMR. MMR is typically fairly tight.
Idont know what to tell you… maube you’re playing a whole different game then the vast majority of us
I don’t think you know how the game works and I’m not going to argue with you about it. All good.
no one is trying to strong arm you into anything. Believe what you want you can live in denial all you want … but there’s a reason post like these are all over the place.
But of course someone like you will call all of them liar.
Not calling you a liar. I’m saying you’re wrong.
Games don’t have huge gaps in MMR like you’re suggesting and certainly not at any range you have played at. CR can vary by a very large amount.
The logic behind why there were 2 different competing systems of rating (CR vs MMR) is flawed. “Competing” is the correct term here, because essentially you have a player’s scored rating, vs a perceived skill rating.
The issue is that it is entirely possible for 2 players at VERY different skill levels to fall at the same speed if they lose, and are subsequently put on the same team game, after game, after game, AFTER GAME.
As an example, I had a series of games with a hunter whom took the attitude of “I don’t care,” “I’m drunk,” “The seasons over” (etc.) – And I ended up on the same team as this player for roughly 10 games… With mmr falling at a faster rate than cr, it becomes near impossible to escape the “death spiral,” especially when the system is complicit with a team mate whom willingly sabotages you game after game.
Typically good to stop queuing after a loss. Why would you keep queuing if you got the same loser more than once?
i suppose the tldr is that, if the system is indeed not broken – and thus fair – that player and I would eventually be separated one way or another.
What’s broken in this situation? The most games I have ever had with another player is 3 and that was off a winning streak. 4th game we were on opposite teams.
Given it’s just RNG, your chances of being on the same team each game is going to be the same. The more you lose with that person, the closer your MMR is going to be and the likelihood of you being in the same match is extremely high. Regardless, I have trouble believing you decided to lose with the same player 10 times in a row. You’d think after the 3rd of 4th game you might just take a couple minute break before you queue again.
While there are plenty of things that could be fixed with MMR, there is no mystery here and you could have simply waited. That’s not broken.
Well, you might think that way~ personally, I like to assume everything is on the up and up, and that the coin won’t always land on tails.
I never specified a time-frame, or said those games were in a row. I did paraphrase the hunter as using the excuse that the season was ending though (in other words, I had limited time).
Lookin at pvpcheck, I should doubt I need to point out how often you see familiar faces in blitz due to how small the pool can be that high up.
It is. RNG will still do its thing though. I got bracers 11 times in a row in my vault during Legion. Mathematically seems pretty much impossible, but is what it is.
Well, your wording suggests it…
FOR roughly 10 games. Not ‘I have played with the same player 10 times’ or something like that.
I do see the same faces, but it’s always a mix. I have rarely ever had the same player multiple matches in a row. If you continue to get them, than you’re both winning and lose about the same rate. At the very end of the season over 2800 I’d see players a bit more often, but that was a rarity and it was still on me to stop queueing after a loss.
It’s not RNG if the game is balancing your mmr + his mmr against the other team’s mmr in order to reach a similar number.
I mean, if you think you were tilting, then yea, that’s a smart thing to do. But what about running into the same guy 2 hours later? I don’t think that’s your fault at all.
You’re losing at the same rate as someone who openly says he doesn’t care, because he is playing in THAT manner. And you are stuck with him, because you are juuuuuuust close enough together, despite w/e gains you have made in the meantime.
It’s not doing that though and that has been one of my big criticisms. Have made a number of posts on that very topic.
If you’re running into the same guy two hours later, than the system is working fine. That happens in 2s, 3s, shuffle… That they ended up on the same team is just bad luck.
I get that, but given the pool of players and depending on the MMR range, that’s just reality. You can wait or you can try and find a healer to queue with (if you’re a dps) and that will change your MMR some. If you’re both tanking at the same rate AND you lost games that they weren’t in, that’s on you. Sucks, I get it, but there isn’t a lot the system can do to fix that.
