Blizzard, why do I get the feeling

That you are going to force me to fight for the wrong side and only realize it after the fact?

Why do I feel like the jailer is not the bad guy in this?

Why do I feel like you are going to try to wash away Sylvanas’ sins in some ridiculous redemption arch?

Why am I beginning to hate Elune, a “first one”, seeing her as the real evil here, the real puppeteer in all of this?

Please, please dont try to excuse Sylvanas with some BS story like that. She is not some anti-hero, shes not the hero we need. She is beyond redemption.

I wouldn’t be surprised, the city of Oribos is named after the greek god of darkness Erebos.
That itself is a huge red flag.

Yep. It’s not looking good.

I don’t have much stake in the lore honestly, but I will say this.
The most convinced I was about some crazy twist was with Nzoth’s role in BFA.
His story ended up being the most obvious direction forward and his ending anti-climatic instead of a twist.

Sadly, this isn’t an HBO series or something.
They write compelling story with strong characters and enemies, but to expect huge twists like this at this point doesn’t seem logical given their track record.

The best assumption is its playing out as expected always.
You’ll be accurate 95 percent of the time, it seems.

There are just way too many red flags popping up for me to not be worries that we are the baddies this time.

Oh dear God no. I hope green is right and I’m just reading too much into this.

Horde has sadly done this for two expansions, so we should be used to this by now.

I’m not sure about this one. They’ve already said he’ll be the end boss, and he’s looking pretty evil right now.

But this is Blizzard. M Night Shyamalan twists are pretty common now (or trying to be twists only to be what everyone expected).

Art and statues of her sell. Getting rid of her would be financially foolish considering her fan base.

I…am not sure where that’s coming from, but you do you.

Sadly, see above. Sylvanas sells, her fan base is large and it’s easy to just print a bunch of images and statues of her looking “cool and dangerous.”

I hate to say this, because Sylvanas is a truly repugnant and awful character, but she probably sells better than almost any other statue/character in WoW. So financially removing her from the game would be costly. And while I truly wish this superficial view wasn’t what I truly believed, I’ve seen enough of it in the game to hold it as my belief regarding her.

Sylvanas is totally a good guy.
Okay antihero.

Shes doing bad but it will be for a good cause.
She said she is going to set us all free.

And tbh I hope she destroys the maw because its kinda evil to damn people to eternal suffering. If she fixes that, shes good in my books.

I would like to address the Elune part. I don’t trust in any gods. They all have an alternate motive. I would like to fight Elune one day with the caveeot that if we do we lose the druid transformation or at least lose the current one with the worship of Elune and come up with another way to transform.

Elune did let like all the night elves burn to death and then gave tyrande a power that will kill her for no reason other than tyrande was being grumpy.
I’d say Elune is not trustworthy.

I wonder if Elune is in on the plan with Sylvanas.
makes sense to let the night elves burn and then give one of them super powers to kill more people and eventually die from it themselves. Elune clearly wants people dead.

Exactly. She doesn’t even care if it’s her own followers. If anything they are all just sacrificial pawns for her own gain.

It makes perfect sense for Elune to be on the same side as Sylvanas but I dread to think what the night elf players would do if blizzard told them their god sided with the person that killed them.
They’re already not over it happening in the first place.

Meh, i say make it canon

They are 100% setting Sylvanas up for “she was secretly right all along” with that “this world is a prison!” thing they did in the SL trailer.

Right the tree is a good example.
Took them 2 years to pay it off and ended up just being so she could kill as many people as possible to help the jailer.
If we knew that was on the table, everyone would have suggested that immediately.

Good news is we know for sure the Jailer is the final boss. So he’s not really a good guy and has done nothing but straight evil. Sylvanas is actively supporting him, we wouldn’t be here without her. We’ve seen from her actions and private comments that she is all for his cause.

I don’t see her ever getting a redemption. Everyone is out to get her.

Elune’s just a mystery. I don’t think she’s evil, just a little unpredictable. She’s mostly been helpful, but it’s hard to say anything definitive on her. I don’t think it’s fair to judge her on the tree burning when we don’t know what her side of the story is yet.

But she sided with the jailer, who presides over the maw. How can she be setting us free if she is working with him? He is the one funneling souls to the maw. He is the one giving sylvanas her power. Right?

Unless shes a double agent working for Elune.

Pretty sure the name is a reference to this.
